About
Steel Edge is a resource pack initially inspired by many PvP packs. Later on in the pack’s development, I decided to expand the scope of the pack to general convenience, inspired by the many existing redstone packs.

I made this resource pack because I liked the idea of a PvP pack, but disliked how people executed them. I didn't like how PvP packs were frowned upon by many people, especially by the folks over at the Minecraft Forum. But why were they frowned upon? Well, because these packs were mostly always edits of Vattic's Faithful, or edits of other PvP packs, and all the effort was put into a few textures, making the packs feel as if there was a clash between styles. Now, not all PvP packs are such, as a few are entirely original.
This pack will not boost your FPS. If anything, it might lower it, but not too significantly unless you are playing on a potato. However, no texture pack will boost your frames, unless it's 8x or lower, and even then, it won't boost your frames significantly. If you want more FPS then get a mod like OptiFine (from optifine.net). Additionally, you will be able to use some additional features of the pack if you use OptiFine, including connected textures for glass, emissive textures, custom loading screens, and more.
This pack has plenty of features for convenience - see the images for more information. However, it lacks short swords by default. An add-on for short swords is available on the download page.
I have been working on this pack in and out for a year, starting with the bow and arrow. As it grew, I started to expand into blocks, GUIs, and even more! From a simple pack add-on for any other HD pack, it grew into its own pack! You can see the history of the pack by looking inside the pack file - every version of every texture is kept.
How you can get involved
There is a version of the pack for 1.12 and 1.8 but it's out of date. I will be working on these but please tell me if you're interested in them. Also, if there's a texture that you want me to do, tell me, so I can prioritize it. If you want to help out in the pack's development, you can also make your own textures for the pack, and send them to me. You will be credited.
Redistribution
If you want to redistribute textures of this pack, edited or unedited, you must include the file titled "redistribution-notice.txt" found inside the zip in the pack which you are redistributing these files.
You must also include a link to the Planet Minecraft thread of Steel Edge in the place you are posting the redistribution.
You can create add-ons for this pack and post them on this post if you want - this would be appreciated!
You are free to make videos of the pack without posting a link to the post, if you wish, but I would appreciate it if you did link back to this post. (Also, it would be especially cool if you sent me these videos so I that could see them :) )
Please tell me any feedback and suggestions you may have on this pack, as well as any other colors or add-ons you would like me to make!

1.15 Update and Recolors! : by aehmttw 02/15/2020 3:07:52 pmFeb 15th, 2020
The resource pack now supports the 1.15 versions!
I have written a program to generate recolors for this resource pack. As a result, there are 16 new colors that will be joining the original red. The recolors are add-ons to the pack, meaning you need to be using the original red pack, with the add-on pack on top while applying resource packs. Here are the new colors: orange, yellow, chartreuse green, green, spring green, cyan, azure, blue, violet, magenta, rose, white, light gray, gray, dark gray, and black.
The shield is now no longer semitransparent due to changes to Minecraft's render engine. However, I have added a new model for the shield to make it less intrusive.
