You need optifine for it to run.
You can download it here: https://optifine.net/downloads
What about a 32x32 version ? That will be great ^^

Man this is really cool, how did you make different looks for all armors? I make texturepacks and knowing how to do this would really benefit!

Glad there's someone interested on it!
Take this lines of the main "code" for an example:

type=armor
items=chainmail_boots chainmail_chestplate chainmail_helmet
texture.chainmail_layer_1=chainmail_layer_1
enchantments=blast_protection

this source is from the outer layer of the chainmail armor(which corresponds to boots, helmet and chestplate)
let me explain how it works:
type is set to armor, which means optifine will take the texture as an armor type. It can be set on "items" or "elytra" too.
items sets the items the texture will be applied on
texture.[...] is the important one. It settles the specific texture you want to be replaced. It's obligatory for armor stuff, but not for items
enchantments settles the enchantments required for the texture to be shown

There are more attributes you can apply, but these are the main ones I used.
Feel free to check the insides of the pack for more references.
Enjoy the texture pack!

Thanks for responding! I am using this texture pack and enjoying it, it would be cool (laggy but cool) if when you hold certain enchanted tools it emits a particle (embers coming off of a sword etc.) not sure if optifine can do that but it's a thought I had.

Can an item or an armor have a lot of enchantments(5)?

Yes, but with the texture pack will only show one texture, as they can't blend.
WOAH such a cool idea! never thought about that XD
Will you update this for 1.14?

As soon as optifine 1.14 is released
Interesting, (in a good way, I diamond) I’m intrigued with this idea and how it came out

I saw that you could make custom items using optifine by taking a few criteria like a custom name.
First I started doing custom elytra textures that would show up when the item had a certain name, but ended up making a representation for enchantments in armor.
I did all the armor textures, but one thing lead to another and I ended making a whole resourcepack with weapons and tools too.
