“Maybe! Just Maybe!” she scolds and Elizabeth turns and sighs. All of these days, the little girl has been told, “Maybe”. And, Elizabeth is paranoid by this, all the time. She simply asks for a doll that’s standing in the store, as if it was waiting for Elizabeth that one time. The other time at a yogurt store, she simply asked for a little, mini, tiny, scoop of chocolate yogurt. Her mom just turns and scolds, almost yelling, “Maybe! Maybe! Maybe you will not get that yogurt!” Elizabeth had gave up, not wanting to upset her mistress mom. One night, she planned, to ask her folks if they loved them, the trick, as planned, they will have to say “Yes”, but they promised if they ever said something other than Maybe, they will finally get her what she wanted.


A very sly Elizabeth, shuffled into the kitchen hallway, where all her family was. “Mother, Father, Sister, and Brother, do you love me?” she exclaimed, and the table became quiet as the wind. Tension rose upon the air, waiting for the answer of the question. “Maybe”… “Maybe”…. “Maybe”…”Maybe”, that’s it, her family had all said Maybe, but she saw something, something glistening in their eyes, as if they were forced to say Maybe. Her mouth opened, and slithering sound interrupted her. “Maybe, MAYBE, Is all people say, that’s I’ll make you, make you, a Maybe teller.” Elizabeth turned and saw the slithering, slimy, disgusting creature. She yelped, she tried to yelp “Help!” but what came out was a “Maybe” he mind said , “Well, Maybe you should not yell “Maybe..” was all she could. For she had been turned into a slithering, black-hearted, Maybe teller.”
