Hey, how's it going, everyone? It's been a long time of inactivity for me, so I'm going to break that now and bring out a post about something that's been weighing on my mind heavily lately: Classic servers.
Many of you will remember the good old days when servers were still new, and people were constantly making new servers and new ideas that would generally get a small following; many servers had 10-15 dedicated players, and those that didn't still might get some recognition from the community, if they were to a high enough standard. But now, most of them have died out, either dropping to 1 or 2 concurrent players, and being replaced by the huge servers like Arkham and Mineplex that many commit to rather than those smaller servers that might be just as polished, but remain wuthout players simply because most minecrafters would prefer to follow the crowd and join those with the big followings, rather than experiment with the new, smaller servers. If this continues, however, the community will get to a stage where server owners will no longer spend time creating new servers, no longer put out their ideas, no longer put out small servers for devoted players to enjoy, so there will be no new blood, no new ideas that are put out in multiplayer, nowhere else to go excpet the massive servers where a passing character is gone amidst hundreds or thousands of other players. Instead, I think we should all at least give some thought to those new servers from the owners who are struggling to get any recognition, struggling to gather a following. We should at least give them a chance.
On that note, "StealthNetwork" | Minecraft RP Prison | is currently in development, and I think that this could bring something good out for the community to enjoy; please go and take a look, and contribute in any way that you can. Thank you.

Ammendments, Server Updates, and Typo-Clearing : by Elderhon 03/14/2015 5:26:39 pmMar 14th, 2015
I am just working now on making ammendments on the post to suit everyone and to convey my opinions more clearly. Additionally, there has been some server updates over on Indiegogo and Facebook, and I'm trawling through the post to weed out typos and grammatical errors to make it so that you have a better experience reading it.
Additionally, I'm going through the comments and responding, so feel free to leave your opinions below.

Perhaps it would be interesting to cover in the article :)
Name changing will kill minecraft. Friends won't know who their friends are... Trolls can change their name every 30 days and use VPN's to connect. Name changing is purely for server trolls and accomplishes nothing but confusion and frustration!! Name changes will also destroy forums. Nothing will match. Trolls can change their name, go on the forum with a nasty name and say nasty things... then do it over and over again - Every 30 days !! It will completely break Minecraft after countless changing to the point that nobody will want to play the game anymore. A lot has been in decline since name changing and Minecraft will never be the same. These days, everything is in UUID so looking up a player involves first converting the name to UUID and then hunting through the alien codes to try to locate their YML... No more sort by player, etc - It's all gone !! The name changing update is the thing that will destroy any server owners desire to continue (unless they only care about donations and not players) ~~ RIP Minecraft !!
