Hey everybody, I accepted a challenge to write a short story (Under 600 Characters) about this prompt.

Steve was once a man who lived a normal life. Mining, farming, cutting wood, and other things that any regular Minecraftian does. However, one day when he finds an odd portal in his friendo s house he is watching over, his world changes. He is forced to make peace with these weird pig-like beings and slay the ghast. Can he do it? Or will Steve be forever forgotten?

Here I go!

Mike was an average Minecraft player like the rest of us, he gathered supplies, fought mobs, survived, and built marvelous things. His friend and him played on their private server together a lot. One night, his friend, Carl, had to get off early to do some homework. So, Mike was left alone on their server to go about his business. It was night in the game and he went to go to bed. But he heard some strange noises coming from below the floor boards. He decided to check it out and chopped right through the floor. He fell right in front of an odd obsidian structure and notice that is was a portal to another realm. Feeling brave, he went through. On the other side of that portal was the Nether, a fiery hot realm with mutant creatures. Immediately, a pig like creature walked up to him and asked him "We are the natives of the Nether, you seem to have the bravery of a hero, so will you slay the ghast for us" and Mike replied, "Sure, but how can I trust you?" So they offered him the proper gear and pledged a favor if he succeeded. Mike accepted and toyed with his sweet new gear and set off. As he was walking, he heard a screech and an explosion erupted in front of him. He looked up and saw a white ghost-like figure. Using the new bow he had received, he equipped and arrow, pulled back, aimed carefully watching this strange beast movements as it spit more explosions towards him, and released the arrow. It flew straight for the beast and a screech erupted as the ghast fell towards the ground. The pigman came up behind him and thanked him. Steve returned to his realm with the new gear happy as ever.
