"It's still none of your business!" I said with a smile.

"Oh, come on, please?" Nathan said.

"Well what are you doing out here?"

"I couldn't sleep... this is where I come sometimes. I think it's really pretty at night. And it's calming."

"Ah."

"So why are you here?"

I sighed. "I'm not really sure. I... I just wan't to end this war... I think coming out here was a mistake, though."

"So you're leaving the castle, to try to end the war?"

"Yes."

"And how do you plan to do that?"

"I don't know. I guess I'm going to wing it."

"Wing it? You're probably going to die."

"Yeah, because that's SO encouraging."

"I want to come with."

"What?"

"I want to come with you. I'm sick of my mom and this place. And I want to help you."

"You do?"

"Yeah! I hate this war almost as much as you do. I gain nothing from it, we gain nothing from it, this whole kingdom gains nothing from it. It's just to prove who's better."

"Thanks Nathan." I smiled at him. "Come on, we'll stay by the battlefield, but far enough away so they can't see us." I started walking in the direction I was going to before, but this time with Nathan beside me.

"Are we going to stay in a place fit for a princess?" he teased.

I punched his arm. "Shut up!" I laughed.

He rubbed the spot where I punched him. "You punch hard for a girl."

I looked at him. "Excuse me?"

"Oh, I'm sorry. A princess." He grinned.

"Well, if you don't stop I'll punch you hard enough to make you forget where you are."

"OOH! I'm SO scared!" I punched him like I was in a fight. "Ow! Ok, I'll stop." He looked at me then muttered, "Princess." This time I kicked him in the back of his leg, sending him to the ground. "ALRIGHT! Truce?"

"Truce." I gave him my hand and helped him back up.

I had almost forgotten why Nathan was my best friend. He was a GOOD friend, and made me laugh. I had gotten so used to just knowing he was my best friend, that I completely forgot why.

We kept walking and eventually entered Mother Nature's place. I knew this would only last a mile or two, but it was still beautiful too see. No buildings, streets or people. Just the trees, grass, and animals. We took in every part of it as we walked through, because we knew once this ran out, we'd enter a No-Man's Land.
