Day 1, 10 am:
I have been hired by a mapping business to help them map the nether. The problem is, all the nether portals nearby mysteriously exploded. Just... poof.
Day 2, 11 am:
Those portals aren't getting fixed anytime soon... I'm starting to think I might have to build my own. But now the problem is, all the damn lava nearby was used up for those portals!
Day 3, 10 am:
I'm in luck. Another nether explorer pointed me to a large pool of lava that is about 20 kilometers away. If I ride a horse, it shouldn't take very long.
Day 4, 6 pm:
I've obtained the lava needed. All I need to do is build and light the portal. On a side note, I noticed that the pieces of obsidian leftover from the portal explosion have disappeared.
Day 5, 7 pm:
I've done it. I've finished the portal. Now I just need to go through! Unfortunately, I'm very sleepy. I just cannot go through with this amount of energy!
Day 6, 9 am:
The time has come! I have the necessary armor, weapons, tools, and food. Oh, and of course, my maps. There would be a disaster if I left those maps at home.
9 pm:
I went through and it's... so... very... red. There is also an interesting ore that's white and lustrous. I’ve mined some of it out, maybe it’ll make a good necklace!
Day 7, 5 am:
As it turns out, the gods of the nether realms don't like sleeping. My bed exploded and I got blasted so far I nearly fell into the lava! I'll just have to sleep on the hot netherrack I suppose... Maybe the bits of wool I have leftover from Alex's sheep-shearing party will work, they don't count as a bed yet, do they?
Day 8, 1 am:
I just was awoken by a terrible screeching. It sounds almost like a... cat? I didn't know there were cats in here! Back to sleep I go…
4 pm:
This place is getting creepy. As I stepped into an unfathomably big cavern full of lava, probably kilometers across, I started hearing dampened footsteps from the foggy distance. And then I made the huge mistake of yelling “ECHO!” as if I was under a big bridge. That could have easily been my last mistake, as 5 seconds later a ball of fire came barreling out of the fog and nearly blasted me in the lava again. Boy that netherrack is hot...
Day 9, 8 am:
I’ve finished exploring the first section, now I can go back for a bit. I couldn’t help but notice the ominous fortress in the distance though. Later Steve, later! You can explore it later! I still can’t think of what could be causing the screeching. Whatever it is, I can’t stand it!
Day 10, 8 am:
I’m back at home again to get more supplies. I’ll need some food and water, well actually not water because it just boils up instantly. Also, I need to repair my dang tools. That netherrack really wears down even a nice diamond pick like mine.
Day 11:
And… now we have another delay! Right as I was about to go through my portal, the whole thing started glowing purple and it exploded! Now I have sharp obsidian shrapnel stuck all over me, and I can’t go in that room because the shards will cut my feet, even with boots!
At this point, I really just need to find out why all the portals are exploding. Then I can get back to mapping.
