This is a TRUE story! :D
Once upon a time, I was playing in my most successful world, when I was stricken by an idea. I had been exploring for ages, searching for a rare NPC village to voyage to for trading in 1.3 (when it comes out). Why not use a boat and a map to search for a little village? Quickly, I crafted the boat, grabbed some supplies, and left at around midday. This would become a horrible story. I was not able to create a bed, as I hadn't been shearing my sheep, Fluffers, lately. He's the only animal in that world I named; the rest come and go too quickly. Anyway, I spent the rest of the day and a bit of the night exploring. A half-moon lit the sky, and I saw creepers and zombies on the shores as I glided gently and swiftly through the water. I saw swamp trees up ahead, but thought nothing of it. Until my boat exploded from underneath me. As I groped for the surface, I thought to myself, What just happened? What did I hit? Did a skeleton snipe me? But I had, in fact, hit something. It was almost invisible; blending in with the water under the cover of night's thick, black cloak. It was a lily pad! It turns out that these things will break your boat to sticks if you whack 'em too hard. I spent the night on a nearby shore, fending off creepers. I almost died, with only three hearts left. In the morning, I spent some time finding a tree, and rode a new boat home to safety.
The moral of the story: Lily pads=DANGEROUS!
