Asking for donations

When i look around on minecraft servers, or just on forum posts all i see is We are in need of donations, can we have some donations, donate or the server goes down. I feel that you do not need to run a server on donations, that you should run it on money that you have and give players the will to donate. Asking for donations makes you sound like you are doing this just for the money. If a player donates they should want to donate and not feel forced to because of you ranting around saying i need to shutdown the server because we dont have enough money. Another thing is if you start a server you should have enough money to keep it up for a few month and make sure you can always pay and dont overpay. I am tired of seeing these forums and posts.
