Betrayal usually happens in faction servers, which I have a blog about them here:
Betrayal usually happens in these three common ways, I will list them below.(I am sure there are about 100 more ways, but these I think personally are the most important.)
1. Trust, and how to arise
Before you invite more than 10 people into your faction, you need something called "trust" in them. You can invite one or two first in order to make the handle the faction, and if one betrays than its not like rampage its only 1v1. After you have trust in your members.(1 or 2) Invite more, and if someone betrays you its 3 vs.1 or 2 vs.1, so most likely you will win. Normally the best faction in your server usually has 10- 50 people. The reason why no one dares betray is because they keep doing the step before, and that's how the rise to the strongest.
So this step was talking about trust, and how to arise.
2. Friend faction
This is the Best, Best, Best way to not get betrayed, all you have to do is get some friends on the server, and make a faction, and build with them, real life friends are better, because I got betrayed by an in-game friend, we were friends on almost 60 servers, at last I had a lot of diamonds, so he betrayed me. If you want to invite strangers, you should invite some after you get about iron armor, and some iron tools, or diamond tools. Friend faction is the best in teamwork too, regular stranger to stranger factions, might have some lazy dudes, who just log off, and watch TV, while they say they have to go there, and there, etc.
3. Alliance Faction
This is one of the best too, because you have allies switching over, and switching back, and kicking your enemies asses. In order to make a good Alliance Faction, you have to find a friendly, and nice, but strong faction. You have to ally them first, gain their trust, and you can tell them,"May we start an alliance faction, its like our faction and your faction trading over to each other, and we share supplies, and etc." Most likely they will accept, so when you accept, you can rise to the strongest, and later on about 1 week later, you guys join factions, and one faction gets deleted, while all the members go to the other faction.
Sometimes, when a faction Owner starts abusing, and pisses his faction members off, they will have a rebel, and take down the faction, this counts as betraying, but it is a positive idea.
If you don't want to get betrayed, treat your team nice, and don't betray.

- Some person has some sort of hate on the other person in the other faction.
- A troll enters the game and asks to join factions, when he joins one, he takes their items, leaves, and kills the faction's members.
- A person gets blackmailed, and the blackmailer asks for the factions coordiantes for a prize.
