(Three years later) (December 5, 4046)
It was early winter when the wedding took place, if you walked down that isle you’d see many shades of blue. The crowd was settling themselves in the white park benches, the the Valkyrie’s brought the day before hand, joy and celebration was in the slightly chilly winter air. A few figures dressed deep blue stood besides one dressed in a light blue, his hair was white as the snow. . . Correction, nearly as white, it was slightly on the creamy colors side. Almost every legend here was dressed in white, especially Caspian and Lucien they were both very excited about the wedding. But only two people we’re even more excited about it. . . The lucky groom stood at the ready waiting for his bride, she was in the other room though collecting her thoughts. . . And courage, to go out there and get marry the love of her life.
Standing at the entrance to the garden, I was scared something might go wrong. Today was the biggest moment of my life, anything can and COULD go wrong. A hand tapped my shoulder, or rather a bug-like hand. Turning around I saw Reno, he was ready to escort me down the isle. . . But I didn’t feel like I was really ready, but at the same time I was.
“Come on Cassie, it’s time. . . Don’t forget your bouquet of white roses?” Taking my bouquet of roses from him, he touched my shoulder lightly, looking up his gaze was caring and loving.
“Cassidy, he loves you with his whole heart. All your friends will be with you, and he’ll be there too. Are you ready?” Sucking in a deep breath I nodded, nodding back Reno spoke into a small black box to help him talk to Azuri and Mordex.
“Azuri, Mordex do you copy?” A few second went by until a distorted voice came from the small black box.
“Ready you loud and clear, is the bride ready?” Reno looked at me for conformation, nodding he looked back too the door as I hooked my arm in his.
“She’s ready, open on the count of three, Over.” Clicking the box off, he slid it into his pocket.
Leading me to the gates or as he called them “Doors” we waited for them to be opened by Azuri and Mordex, the seconds seemed long and agonising. The light surprised me as the doors opened, and Reno led me into the bright light of winter.
Looking around the staring legends I could see Nix and Petra at the front, Brynn and Val sat besides them with Dusk and his son. I was still amazed Dusk and Ember had a beautiful son who was just only three years old but still, I never thought they’d get married. And to think Ember was scared like I was, and nothing bad happened. . .
I saw my Bridesmaids all beautiful and smiling, Lin Fei stood besides Ember who was silently crying with Kaya.
The song Cannon started to play as Reno led her down the isle slowly, Volkov’s face was radiant with pride. As she stood beside him Reno left her side to join the legends below, Cassidy took Volkov's hand in hers, and Ember was crying silent tears of joy with Kaya. Lin Fei patted Embers shoulder as the prissiest AKA Zariel spoke, in the seals of marriage, as the seals were spoken it was time. Volkov lifted Cassidy’s vail and touching his cheek gently, she kissed him. The after party was truly amazing, Kaya, Brynn, Ember and Lin Fei planed the after party, there was laughter and joy all day long....

“BUT MOM! Why is Hypernira making Jaya, Dune and Diesel go down too. . .” I hated saying Earth, the vile word left a nasty after taste on my tongue.
I don’t have a particular reason to hate Earth, I just hear awful things about it from Auntie Val. Auntie Brynn try’s too correct her but once she leaves the room Auntie Val keeps telling me and my brother about it, I particularly HATE MBFC. . . And at the same time I LOVE them, they created my Aunt Val. Dune and Diesel’s dad told me and my brother about it once, its their fault he’s got a Diesel heart. Says if they hadn’t realised that VIRES he’d have a fully functioning heart, that's one of the other reason why I HATE the MBFC.
“E-e-earth?” Mother looked at me for a moment and sighed, and I knew exactly what was coming.
“Jennifer you know why, please just don’t try anything stupid okay sweetheart?” Ugh! Can’t she quit with the nick names, I am not a little girl anymore I’m fifteen now!
“Mom I’m fifteen, please stop with the nick names..” I don’t actually think mom would like stop with the nicknames, but it was worth a try to ask.
Just then the front door opened and closed and I heard a familiar voice greet my brother, coming into the room were me and mom where poking his head in the kitchen was dad. Even though he’s a vampire mom still managed to get photos of him, which was kid of impressive. Dad gave mom a quick kiss and left to go upstairs to change, looking back at mom she had that dumb look on her face again. Every day scenes they got married, she’d make a odd face when he got home from work. I sometimes hate how big are home is, and don’t forget to mention how creepy it was. I knew mom tried her best to brighten it up, but it was still pretty dark. My brother’s room was dark, he liked it that way though, even though his room was always so dim his skin stayed a dark grey just like Dusk’s skin tone.
But mine though? I was just as tan as mother, but I got my dads ears, white hair but with a twist literally, it’s wavy! And I got his fangs. Kage got dads hair, fangs and the GOOD LOOKS! I got moms freckles though, she calls them angel kisses. One time she said that in front of Zariel and he gave her a weird look, he was an Angel. . . But with age he got a lot smarter, at first he was extremely dim. Today was sad, and good. Tomorrow Dune, Diesel, and Jaya were being sent down to Ugh “Earth” to earn their places. Mom told me eventually me and Kage would join them, BUT in the mean time Jaya is VISITING! When my bro was little he liked her but she had a crush on Dune, but poor Jaya, Dune only considered her a friend.
I tried at one point to tell her my brothers crush on her but Galixia stopped me, she said telling my brothers secret was rude. Even though Galixia was 13 I think she secretly likes my big brother, somebody made a sound which brought me out of my thoughts. Looking around me I saw mom giving me a down to earth look, dad only looked focused on her at the moment.
“The door Jennifer? Wont you be a dear and get it?” The door? Just at that second someone knocked again, JAYA!
Racing for the door mom laughed as I slid and slammed into the door throwing it open only to find my neighbour’s son Shade, sometimes I forget how much he looked like his dad. He always had that loner look to him, but he sure was cute. His hair was almost a charcoal black, and his hair was always wild. His skin had a nice slight tan, he had his mothers fierce gaze. Looking up at me he tried to smile, and I nearly tripped over the door frame when he did.
“Hey Jennifer, can I talk to you? Before you leave for Earth, your mom told me you and your brother were going tomorrow. . .” Ummm why would mother say that we’re not going its Dune, Diesel and Jaya. . . Unless we were, and they hadn’t told us yet.
“I’m sorry your mistaken, I’m not going anywhere. . . BUT why don’t you come in I’m not busy, what is it you wanted to say?” Stepping aside I let him in, closing the door mother made a confused face as he went into the back yard, mother pulled me aside and whispered.
“Jennifer, why is Shade here. I thought Jaya was coming, not a boy.” A boy. . . Is that how she saw him?
“I’m just as confused as you are mom, he wants to talk. By the way we need to talk when Jaya leaves, I think you have something too tell me and my brother. Before tomorrow correct?” Mothers eyes widened as I said that, nodding she let me follow Shade.
I closed the back door behind me to find Shade lingering in the door way of my tree house, beckoning me to follow I climb the ladder. As I pulled myself over the top I came face to face with Shade, he took my hand and pulled me up the rest of the way. Letting go of my hand I rubbed my hand agents my jeans, Shade settled himself in the corner and spoke in a low whisper.
“Jennifer, I have something to admit. I don’t want you to leave, I-“ Just at that moment the back door to the house opened and closed rather loudly, and a familiar face peeked in through the tree house door frame.
“HI JENNIFER, HEY SHADE! What you guys doing?”Jaya picked that moment to pop in and scare the living day lights out of me, jumping away from the door I trip over a stool and crash down on Shade.
“Ooo... you okay Jennifer?” Nodding I use the tree branch extending from the center of the tree house and pull myself off Shade, brushing myself off I shoot Shade and apologetic look.
“Jaya could you step out for a second Shade was trying to tell me something, until you came. Not to be rude, today is your last day. Just a moment please?” Nodding she smiled and made her way down the ladder, after a moment the back door closed as she went inside.
I was about to turn around when Shade took my hand and cupped it with both his hands, looking into his eyes I could see something thats been hidden for a long, long time. And it was about to be realised, and I was now frightened of what he was going to say..
“Jaya, I’ve had a thing for you for so long I can’t exactly remember how long. Ever sense your family came to that Christmas party my family was at I couldn’t stop thinking about you, Jaya I love you..” LOVE ME!? I barely know HIM! Sure I spied on him from time to time, But....Okay I knew everything about Shade. But I don’t think he knew anything about me, unless I never noticed him spying on me..
“How can you love somebody if you don’t know anything about them, tell me Shade?” He smiled his dazzling smile all the legends loved, but one legend in particular loved it the most...His father.
“Ask me any question, I’ll answer it correctly.” Any question?
“Hmm okay who was my first kiss?”
“That's a trick question, you’ve never been kissed. Got anything harder for me?” Geez, you got one correct lets see if you can guess this one.
“Who set my mother on a blind date with my dad?” Bet you don’t know this one, nobody else knows but my mom and dad.
“Jennifer, do you really think I don’t know that Uncle Reno and Bödvard set her up with him? Come on its the first thing he told my mom after Cassidy and Volkov got married, do you still need more proof?” Honestly yes, I want to know one more thing..
“Here’s a question for you, how do you know all this stuff? Favourite colour? Favourite ice cream? My bestie?” He sighs and pats my shoulder, looking around him he started to list off the answers all correctly..
“First, it’s because I love you Jennifer. If you love somebody, you care enough to know everything about them. And as for colour it’s green, Ice cream flavour would be the TigersBlood, and why did you think I wouldn’t guess your bestie is Jaya?” Taking my hand he smiled, knowing he got those all correct.
“I’d say this is stalking, because it’s creepy how you knew all that..”
“Me stalking? You spy on me Jennifer, do you think I haven't notice it?” I could feel my face burn as he said that, I had no clue he knew that either!
“Come on admit it, Jennifer. You have a crush on me, don’t you?” I couldn’t even look him in the face, I was so embarrassed currently.
Just at that moment Jaya pokes her head back in, but this time shes followed by Dune and Diesel. I hadn’t realised that mom invited them over too, or maybe they just came over on their own? Sometimes they do that, because they want to.
“Oh Shade you know she does, we all know she does.” Jaya laughed as I shoot a crossed look at her, Dune spoke up and pat Shade’s shoulder.
“Hey bro, were gonna miss you. Are you going to come see us off tomorrow?” Shade nodded, but before he moved back he whispered in my ear.
“We’ll finish this conversation tomorrow morning okay Jennifer?” I nodded and Shade looked at Dune, hugging his friend he nodded.
“Of course Dune, I wouldn’t miss it for the world.” Just then A small grey bat flew in the window and perched on Jaya’s shoulder, rubbing the bats head she spoke.
“Awe you guys look, he’s adorable. Jennifer look.” We all looked at one another and Diesel snorted, as Dune elbowed Shade.
“Guys we should tell her...” They only watched Jaya cooing at my Brother in his bat form, which was kind of funny.
“Tell me what Jennifer?” Really you guys, this is mean to my brother.
“Your loving the attention aren’t you, Kage?” Jaya looks confused by this and it takes her a few seconds to realise and she looks at me wide eyed, crossing her arms my brother squeaks at her.
“Real nice Kage, can you not trick me like that? You guys know I love cute things..” We all laughed at that, we knew very well that she likes cute things.
“We know that Jaya, we also know Dune is in the category of “cute” in your definition.” Jaya’s face visibly got redder, even with her moms skin complexion you could still see the difference.
“Okay but really does anyone know why Hypernira is sending Dune, Diesel and Jaya to E-Earth?” Shade nodded and we all looked at him confused.
“You know why Shade? Spill it, why is she sending them away?” Shade breathed in deeply and sighed, looking at each of us in turn he spoke.
“She wants all of us, the Next Generation to earn are place in her Hall Of Legends. My dad told me he heard some of the other legends complaining that we didn’t do anything too earn are place here, they find it unfair that we we’re born into are statues..” Legends were unhappy with Us? But why, we didn’t choose to be born here..
“But what are supposed too do on Earth, My dad was survivor of an Apocalypse, mom was a mage. Zariel’s an angel Fait talks to start! Cassidy became an outlaw for the grater good, Volkov was a prince! What can we do?” Jaya was silent the whole time Diesel spoke, my brother squeaked some protests and Jaya shushed him, and typically he listens, Dune looked outside as my mother called too us from the door way.
“KIDS DINNER TIME!” We started down the ladder and me and Shade we’re the last ones left, grabbing my wrist he held me back.
“What are you doing Shade, we have to go in side.” He rolled his eyes and smiled at me.
“I’m doing this Jennifer, might as well while I have the chance...” The chance? What does he mean by that, he says it like were never seeing each other again.
“What do you mean by thAA-“ Thats when he ever so quickly pressed his lips agents mine, kissing me.
Having his lips dance agents mine was like eating fire, I didn’t know what too do I’ve never been kissed! But he apparently knew what to do, pulling me closer he directed my hands up and around his neck. Wrapping his arms around my waist he chuckled, pulling his face back are eyes met, and giving me his famous smile he spoke in a whisper.
“I’m coming with you guys tomorrow, and don’t try to stop me. I already told your mom, and my parents too. My dad is letting me take his twin swords and scythe, are you bringing anything with you?” I shook my head no, I’ve never used a weapon before.
“Are the others bringing theirs?” How would I know, I still don’t know if I’m actually going tomorrow.
“I’m not sure, I think Jaya’s bringing her mothers spear. I know Dune has his magic mother taught him, and Diesel has her guns as always. I don’t know about my brother, as for me no I have nothing to bring maybe my parents will give us something...” Shade was making a weird face at me, then I realised he was thinking. Shade always made weird faces when he was thinking about something, the better question is what is he thinking about or who?
“What are you thinking about Shade...?” He smiled and I jumped away from him as Diesel poked her head in, and groaned annoyed.
“Come on love birds were waiting on you guys, or we’re eating without you two!” Jumping down she raced inside, sometimes she is funny.
Diesel tries to be meh about stuff, and not care. One day she’ll like somebody, but I don’t know. If only Petra had a son, then they’d be perfect together! Shade lept off the tree house and landed gracefully on the ground, I wish I could do that. But all I’ve got are lame white dragon-like wings, I personally don’t like them but sometimes I do.
“COME ON JENNIFER! JUMP!” Looking down at Shade he nodded, anytime I lept off something my wings came out.
“You know I can’t! My Wings will just appear and stop my fall!”
“I KNOW! JUMP!” Okay, here goes nothing.
Taking a breath I lept off, in a matter of seconds my wings appeared to stop my fall. I willed my wings to stay, so they did. I could never fully control my own wings, wing beat after another I was safely on the ground. Shade smiled and held out his hand, taking his hand I could feel my wings wrapping around my waist and hooking together with the claw on the end of my wings.
(As Jennifer got inside her mother noticed her holding Shade’s hand and only smiled, once everyone ate dinner Volkov, Dune and Shade followed Kage to his bedroom.)
Me, Diesel, Jaya and my mother Cassidy we’re in my room having girly fun. Later Diesel joined the boys for their gaming fun, mom painted are nails and we watched “Twilight” later Diesel came back in her face was screaming help me, but she said nothing till mom spoke up.
“Diesel honey, what's wrong you look as if you seen a ghost?” Diesel shook her head as Jaya stopped painting my moms nails and looked up at Diesel, we all were interested in what made Diesel disturbed.
“The boys were being cute to each other, it was weird. Volkov is trying too hard to teach them how to act around a girl, or how to quote unquote attract a girl.” We all looked at one another and burst out laughing so hard even Diesel lightened up, and held out her fingers for Jaya to paint.
“Your going to let me paint YOUR nails?!” Diesel nodded and picked a rusty reddish black nail polish, handing it to Jaya, she basically squeaked out of pure joy.
“Don’t think this will become a thing, it’s just this once okay?” Jaya nodded still exited, I realised just how much she was like her mother.
“After the nail polish girls, we will have a sleep over in here okay?" We all nodded and later that night when everyone was a sleep, I snuck out and found Shade sitting outside in the moonlight.
Quietly watching from the window in the kitchen I might have stayed there gawking over him fo ra minute or so, pushing the back screen door open, Shade didn’t even have to look up too know it was me.
“Hey Jennifer....Can’t sleep, hu?" Sitting besides him I nodded, his shoulder bumped against mine.
I could feel his arm snake behind my back and rest on my waist, I kind of liked how bold he was being in his actions right now. Leaning my head on his shoulder I just relaxed, looking into the distance I saw lights...Rainbow coloured lights, then I realised it was the Northern Lights.
“So beautiful...” Nodding he laughed to himself amused, taking a deep breath he whispered softly.
"Yeah..."
“I was talking about you, but sure the lights are beautiful too..” I knew I was quite for too long and Shade just laughed, leaning his face closer be gave me a soft kiss on my forehead.
“Don’t think too hard about it Jennifer, tomorrow we all leave...” He was silent for a long while, I wasn’t sure what it was that made him go silent.
“Are you scared...?” Honestly, no I wasn’t scared I’d have my friends and my brother with me, but I was sad for all are parents, how would they feel after we left?
“Not really, I do wonder what everyone’s parents will do when we leave...” I could feel myself starting to get all tearful, rubbing my eyes Shade took that moment to hug me tightly.
“I do know this, they love you with their whole heart. And will miss us terribly, Jennifer we’ll be okay..” I knew Shade’s family reputations, his mother was a demon bride, his father an mercenary...But they had one thing common among them....They are true to their words, and keep a promise, secret or ANYTHING! Shade himself was true to his word, and kind hearted...I trusted him, with my life.
“I know Shade...” My eyes felt heavy and I knew I was getting tired, leaning into his arms I started to drift off to sleep.
I don’t remember falling a sleep, I woke up to Slate licking my cheek. Brushing the little guy aside I sat up to see Shade out cold, sprawled out on my arm chair. Quietly I swing my legs over the side of my bed and stood up, Slate climbed up my pant leg and up the back of my shirt. Licking my face greeting me good morning, I was still surprised are little bat friend stuck around after me and my brother healed his broken wing. Making my way to Shades side I crouched besides the arm chair and picking Slate up gingerly I held him in my palm, holding him in front of Shade’s face he gave him a slimy lick as a wake up call.
Shade’s eyes shot open and I covered my mouth too hide some giggles, standing up he rubbed his cheek. Once he was satisfied, he took Slate and set him down by his hanging fruit. To which he immediately started to nibble on the apple, and Shade took that moment when I was distracted by Slate to plant a kiss on my four head.
“Did you sleep okay last night? I also hope you don’t mind me bringing you upstairs to your room last night.” No I didn’t mind, I don’t have anything too hide from him.
“No, it’s okay. I see you made yourself at home on my arm chair, comfortable?” He shook his head no, and at that moment decided to pop his neck and back. Which made me scrunch up my nose, I didn’t like the sound when my dad did that it always creeped me out.
“Whats with the face, you look as if you saw a ghost.” I might as well have, that sound was creepy.
“I just don’t like that sound, it’s kinda creepy Shade. Just like you.” Smiling at him he slightly frowned, chuckling he smiled.
“Sure, Jennifer. You know you can be creepy too, in a cute way though?” I felt myself thinking about what did he mean by that, the I remembered my wings, pointy ears and my pearly white fangs.
“I had no choice about being part vampire, you know that Shade.” Shade made a cute face, he always made a cute confused face.
“I did not mean about you a vampire, I meant the spying on me thing was kinda creepy and yet cute.” Oh, wait what?
“Oh quit it, your just trying too hard to flatter me. Shouldn’t we be with the others downstairs eating before we leave? Today’s the big day remember?” Shade ran his fingers through his hair and thought for a second, then his eyes grew wide.
In less then a split second he raced from the room and down stairs, laughing I follow him but I didn’t run. I saw him vanish from sight around the corner, rounding the corner something grabs me. I couldn’t help it so I squeaked in surprise, looking behind me I saw Shade laughing so hard. I was embarrassed and annoyed, but it was kind of funny.
“Ha, ha real funny Shade. Last one to the kitchen is a toasty VAMPIRE!” Now I ran, and so far I was beating him.
As I ran through the halls I passed my dad, talking to are stone guardian Onyx. She must have come back from her trip to the FangWild, LUCKY! She can come and go between the mortal world and ours. Racing up to her I gave dad and Onyx a quick hug, and Onyx gave me a stoney grin.
“GOOD MORNING DAD! WELCOME BACK ONYX!” Racing ahead Shade was close behind, and I looked behind me in time to see my dad raise an eyebrow slightly confused and shrugged turning back to Onyx they started to talk.
Later was a big revealing of a new BattlePass, and a new Field! Although dad said I was too young, to try it out so..Yeah, but we can still see it before we leave. Running around the corner I was first in the kitchen, but I couldn’t stop in time to avoid running into..
“CASPIAN WATCH OUT!” I tried to stop witch caused Shade to run into me, sending us both into Caspian.
Caspian was groaning, and ran his hand through his rusty red hair. Shade lept off us and I was still stunned by the impact, Caspian looked at me and smiled. And another guy voice spoke that I recognised immediately, as are uncle.
“Caspian it’s early morning, save the child’s play till late okay pumpkin?” Shade helped me up, and I almost instantly ran and hugged Uncle Lucien.
Caspian stood up and brushed himself off, looking at Shade he shrugged apologetically. Turning around Caspian walked to the table in the other room, followed by Shade.
“Uncle Lucien, why are you and Uncle Caspian here? DON’T GET ME WRONG! I’m glad your both here, I was just not expecting you to be here.” Lucien smiled and I followed him into the dining room, were everyone else was eating Pancakes, eggs, beacon, Orange juice, milk, Cinnamon rolls, sweet cakes and much MORE!
“Whats all this Uncles? This is basically a royal feast!” My brother Kage, waited for a response, but the question was answered by my dad who at that moment surprised us all, was he there the whole time?
“Son, its a parting gift from your Uncles. Maybe a thank you would be better, don’t you all think so?” Diesel nodded and Lucien sat down besides my brother, Kage looked to dad then back at Lucien and Caspian.
“What does everyone else have to say?” As if planed we all spoke in unison, except two of us said Uncle.
“Thank you Uncle Lucian and Uncle Caspian, for breakfast!” Father was pleased with the thanks and abandon the room again, leaving to hang out with mom in their room probably.
Later when everyone had their fill on food, Diesel, Dune, Jaya and Shade left to go home for their stuff. And when they get back we’d go with Petra to see the new stadium in her home town of Terminus, I was excited to see her home town. It’s supposed too be the source of DarkHeart Crystals, which is the source of her raw power. I was laying on the couch in my bedroom when my brother flew in, AND in his bat form non the less! Landing on my shoulder he watch me type away on my computer Aunt Val gave me for my birthday, it was a brand new laptop that she found laying in a dumpster on the mortal world.
Sometimes she makes trips down to E-earth, for stuff. Like this Laptop for example, or the phone she gave me and my brother. MBFC throws out tones of working stuff, we basically got all are electronic’s from them. Which is kind of sad, since most of us HATE them. Kage prodded at my neck with his small wet cold nose, rubbing my neck he squealed in protest.
“What is is Kage you know I can’t understand you, so you’re going too have to turn back.” He liked being a “free little bat” in his words, more then being a boy, my BROTHER!

Protesting he awkwardly climbs my sleeve, and gets to the keyboard of my laptop and starts typing away. For a bat he managed just fine, which was kind of funny and impressive. In a few seconds he typed “Sister are you nerves about leaving all we have ever known about behind?” Yeah honestly I was nervous, SCARED even!
“Yeah Kage, I am. But on the bright side we’ll have Dune, Diesel, Shade and Jaya with us. Last night mom said Galixia might even be coming too, even though she is young...I’m scared brother, I don’t want anyone to leave..” I could feel myself about to cry, but I tried my best too hold it back.
Kage climbed off me and I could hear the noise of him turning to his human form again, then he hugged me around my neck.
“We’ll be okay Jennifer, we will..” I knew deep down we would be okay, I just didn’t know what too expect.
My brother stayed that was hugging me for a few minutes, until we heard mothers voice from down stairs. Reminding us too get ready, Kage lets go to doo his light weight packing. Sadly I was already done packing, putting my back pack on I made my way down stairs as my phone started to vibrate. Reaching in the pocket of my back pack I pulled out my phone, looking at the screen I see a message from Petra saying she’ll be here soon with Nix. She said she’d be here in like maybe five minutes or so, calling up the stairs my brother peeked out from his room.
“Petra said she’ll be here very soon with Nix, so hurry UP!” Going back into his room, he took a little bit longer to get out here.
Pushing his door open he heaved a backpack up on his back, looking at the door I saw the silhouettes of people at are door. Racing to the door I throw it open to find are friends are back with their stuff, Dune held two bags one was a sandy colour and the other was a brown with a slight rose tint to it, probably Jaya’s bag then. Jaya held her mothers spear, Diesel held her guns at her belt AND she held a tattered old bag filled barely with anything, and Shade held black bag over his should, and his twin swords were in his belt and his dads Scythe was in his hand.
“Jaya do you have the horn’s?” She nodded, holding up a small velvet bag she opened it and handed us each a horn.
“Now mom said there would be one for each of us, when we need a Valkyrie we should blow on the horn, but in the mortal world we can only use it once in a dire moment. So we’ll use it when Petra gets here then after we leave...Save them, incase we are in trouble okay guys?” We all nodded at her, Jaya’s mom always lent or gave us stuff to help us.
We waited a few more minutes until we heard a screech from the distance, looking in the direction of the sound we could see a bear like animal walking....NO Running towards us, then I saw Petra’s pinky raspberry arm waving at us. Then I realised the bear like thing she was on was Tempest, the Raven Bear. Tempest was a black RavenBear Valkyrie, she had mostly the body shape of a bear with black feathers covering her body, she had the head of a raven, and front paw-ish talons. But she was a sweetheart, she was extremely gentle and gorgeous. Coming to a halt in front of us, she and Nix got down and fastens are bags to Tempest saddle.
“Okay who’s ready to go see, my hometowns new FIELD?!” We all were exited about it, even Diesel looked particularly interested in going to see it.
Petra blew into the horn, and a few seconds passed as a few more Valkyrie’s showed up that included, a dark grey dragon, a green one, and a bat one. Me and Jaya called him Smokey, he was a sweet Valkyrie.
Me, Jaya and Kage got on Tempest, Dune and Diesel rode on Smokey and Petra and Nix ride on Drake. We all carrie are stuff, and we speed off on are way. After an hour of flying, we come to the outskirts of Terminus, at the edge of Terminus Petra lead us into town. Following closely Nix brought up the rear end of the group, Petra’s hometown was slightly hostile. Making are way past piles, and piles of DarkHeart crystals. Stopping us, she faced towards us.
“If you kids want too take a crystal speak up now, nobody will miss them and I’ll send Tempest to Ulgrim to make pendents out of them. Just hand them too me, actually raise your hand if you’d like one.” Literarily everyone raised their hands, and Shade was half up not so sure if he wanted one, or if he was copying everyone else.
“Okay so how meany does everyone want, raise your fingers so Nix can take count.” I held one finger up, Kage held two, shade held one, Diesel held up two, Dune held up one, Jaya held both hands up all fingers up.
“You want 10 Jaya, what ever for that meany?” Jaya blushed embarrassed, and she muttered softly.
“I-I-I wanted extra for. . . New friends we make along the way, and incase Galixia comes too. . .” Ohhh I didn’t think about that, smart idea.
“Okay, thats fair. Take your crystals, and please put them in this bag with the note for Ulgrim Nix wrote.” We all took are crystals and placed them in the bag, and Nix slips a small note in the bag with it. Handing it too Tempest she whispered to her, a few seconds later Tempest rose into the air and flew off.
“Will she be back Petra?” Nix nodded and Petra spoke as we followed her, and she waved her hand as she spoke.
“She will be back with the finished Pendants, shes going to pick up Munin and Hugin to help Ulgrim make them. So their ready for you guys in time, BUT in the mean time TA DA!” Looking around us, I saw mountains of crystals surrounding a empty field witch had a oddly shaped dome above it.
It wasn’t even a dome actually, more like a box square. Petra pulled a lever and the box-like dome pulled in half revealing a tunnel going up into the dark sky,
It was early winter when the wedding took place, if you walked down that isle you’d see many shades of blue. The crowd was settling themselves in the white park benches, the the Valkyrie’s brought the day before hand, joy and celebration was in the slightly chilly winter air. A few figures dressed deep blue stood besides one dressed in a light blue, his hair was white as the snow. . . Correction, nearly as white, it was slightly on the creamy colors side. Almost every legend here was dressed in white, especially Caspian and Lucien they were both very excited about the wedding. But only two people we’re even more excited about it. . . The lucky groom stood at the ready waiting for his bride, she was in the other room though collecting her thoughts. . . And courage, to go out there and get marry the love of her life.
Standing at the entrance to the garden, I was scared something might go wrong. Today was the biggest moment of my life, anything can and COULD go wrong. A hand tapped my shoulder, or rather a bug-like hand. Turning around I saw Reno, he was ready to escort me down the isle. . . But I didn’t feel like I was really ready, but at the same time I was.
“Come on Cassie, it’s time. . . Don’t forget your bouquet of white roses?” Taking my bouquet of roses from him, he touched my shoulder lightly, looking up his gaze was caring and loving.
“Cassidy, he loves you with his whole heart. All your friends will be with you, and he’ll be there too. Are you ready?” Sucking in a deep breath I nodded, nodding back Reno spoke into a small black box to help him talk to Azuri and Mordex.
“Azuri, Mordex do you copy?” A few second went by until a distorted voice came from the small black box.
“Ready you loud and clear, is the bride ready?” Reno looked at me for conformation, nodding he looked back too the door as I hooked my arm in his.
“She’s ready, open on the count of three, Over.” Clicking the box off, he slid it into his pocket.
Leading me to the gates or as he called them “Doors” we waited for them to be opened by Azuri and Mordex, the seconds seemed long and agonising. The light surprised me as the doors opened, and Reno led me into the bright light of winter.
Looking around the staring legends I could see Nix and Petra at the front, Brynn and Val sat besides them with Dusk and his son. I was still amazed Dusk and Ember had a beautiful son who was just only three years old but still, I never thought they’d get married. And to think Ember was scared like I was, and nothing bad happened. . .
I saw my Bridesmaids all beautiful and smiling, Lin Fei stood besides Ember who was silently crying with Kaya.
The song Cannon started to play as Reno led her down the isle slowly, Volkov’s face was radiant with pride. As she stood beside him Reno left her side to join the legends below, Cassidy took Volkov's hand in hers, and Ember was crying silent tears of joy with Kaya. Lin Fei patted Embers shoulder as the prissiest AKA Zariel spoke, in the seals of marriage, as the seals were spoken it was time. Volkov lifted Cassidy’s vail and touching his cheek gently, she kissed him. The after party was truly amazing, Kaya, Brynn, Ember and Lin Fei planed the after party, there was laughter and joy all day long....

“BUT MOM! Why is Hypernira making Jaya, Dune and Diesel go down too. . .” I hated saying Earth, the vile word left a nasty after taste on my tongue.
I don’t have a particular reason to hate Earth, I just hear awful things about it from Auntie Val. Auntie Brynn try’s too correct her but once she leaves the room Auntie Val keeps telling me and my brother about it, I particularly HATE MBFC. . . And at the same time I LOVE them, they created my Aunt Val. Dune and Diesel’s dad told me and my brother about it once, its their fault he’s got a Diesel heart. Says if they hadn’t realised that VIRES he’d have a fully functioning heart, that's one of the other reason why I HATE the MBFC.
“E-e-earth?” Mother looked at me for a moment and sighed, and I knew exactly what was coming.
“Jennifer you know why, please just don’t try anything stupid okay sweetheart?” Ugh! Can’t she quit with the nick names, I am not a little girl anymore I’m fifteen now!
“Mom I’m fifteen, please stop with the nick names..” I don’t actually think mom would like stop with the nicknames, but it was worth a try to ask.
Just then the front door opened and closed and I heard a familiar voice greet my brother, coming into the room were me and mom where poking his head in the kitchen was dad. Even though he’s a vampire mom still managed to get photos of him, which was kid of impressive. Dad gave mom a quick kiss and left to go upstairs to change, looking back at mom she had that dumb look on her face again. Every day scenes they got married, she’d make a odd face when he got home from work. I sometimes hate how big are home is, and don’t forget to mention how creepy it was. I knew mom tried her best to brighten it up, but it was still pretty dark. My brother’s room was dark, he liked it that way though, even though his room was always so dim his skin stayed a dark grey just like Dusk’s skin tone.
But mine though? I was just as tan as mother, but I got my dads ears, white hair but with a twist literally, it’s wavy! And I got his fangs. Kage got dads hair, fangs and the GOOD LOOKS! I got moms freckles though, she calls them angel kisses. One time she said that in front of Zariel and he gave her a weird look, he was an Angel. . . But with age he got a lot smarter, at first he was extremely dim. Today was sad, and good. Tomorrow Dune, Diesel, and Jaya were being sent down to Ugh “Earth” to earn their places. Mom told me eventually me and Kage would join them, BUT in the mean time Jaya is VISITING! When my bro was little he liked her but she had a crush on Dune, but poor Jaya, Dune only considered her a friend.
I tried at one point to tell her my brothers crush on her but Galixia stopped me, she said telling my brothers secret was rude. Even though Galixia was 13 I think she secretly likes my big brother, somebody made a sound which brought me out of my thoughts. Looking around me I saw mom giving me a down to earth look, dad only looked focused on her at the moment.
“The door Jennifer? Wont you be a dear and get it?” The door? Just at that second someone knocked again, JAYA!
Racing for the door mom laughed as I slid and slammed into the door throwing it open only to find my neighbour’s son Shade, sometimes I forget how much he looked like his dad. He always had that loner look to him, but he sure was cute. His hair was almost a charcoal black, and his hair was always wild. His skin had a nice slight tan, he had his mothers fierce gaze. Looking up at me he tried to smile, and I nearly tripped over the door frame when he did.
“Hey Jennifer, can I talk to you? Before you leave for Earth, your mom told me you and your brother were going tomorrow. . .” Ummm why would mother say that we’re not going its Dune, Diesel and Jaya. . . Unless we were, and they hadn’t told us yet.
“I’m sorry your mistaken, I’m not going anywhere. . . BUT why don’t you come in I’m not busy, what is it you wanted to say?” Stepping aside I let him in, closing the door mother made a confused face as he went into the back yard, mother pulled me aside and whispered.
“Jennifer, why is Shade here. I thought Jaya was coming, not a boy.” A boy. . . Is that how she saw him?
“I’m just as confused as you are mom, he wants to talk. By the way we need to talk when Jaya leaves, I think you have something too tell me and my brother. Before tomorrow correct?” Mothers eyes widened as I said that, nodding she let me follow Shade.
I closed the back door behind me to find Shade lingering in the door way of my tree house, beckoning me to follow I climb the ladder. As I pulled myself over the top I came face to face with Shade, he took my hand and pulled me up the rest of the way. Letting go of my hand I rubbed my hand agents my jeans, Shade settled himself in the corner and spoke in a low whisper.
“Jennifer, I have something to admit. I don’t want you to leave, I-“ Just at that moment the back door to the house opened and closed rather loudly, and a familiar face peeked in through the tree house door frame.
“HI JENNIFER, HEY SHADE! What you guys doing?”Jaya picked that moment to pop in and scare the living day lights out of me, jumping away from the door I trip over a stool and crash down on Shade.
“Ooo... you okay Jennifer?” Nodding I use the tree branch extending from the center of the tree house and pull myself off Shade, brushing myself off I shoot Shade and apologetic look.
“Jaya could you step out for a second Shade was trying to tell me something, until you came. Not to be rude, today is your last day. Just a moment please?” Nodding she smiled and made her way down the ladder, after a moment the back door closed as she went inside.
I was about to turn around when Shade took my hand and cupped it with both his hands, looking into his eyes I could see something thats been hidden for a long, long time. And it was about to be realised, and I was now frightened of what he was going to say..
“Jaya, I’ve had a thing for you for so long I can’t exactly remember how long. Ever sense your family came to that Christmas party my family was at I couldn’t stop thinking about you, Jaya I love you..” LOVE ME!? I barely know HIM! Sure I spied on him from time to time, But....Okay I knew everything about Shade. But I don’t think he knew anything about me, unless I never noticed him spying on me..
“How can you love somebody if you don’t know anything about them, tell me Shade?” He smiled his dazzling smile all the legends loved, but one legend in particular loved it the most...His father.
“Ask me any question, I’ll answer it correctly.” Any question?
“Hmm okay who was my first kiss?”
“That's a trick question, you’ve never been kissed. Got anything harder for me?” Geez, you got one correct lets see if you can guess this one.
“Who set my mother on a blind date with my dad?” Bet you don’t know this one, nobody else knows but my mom and dad.
“Jennifer, do you really think I don’t know that Uncle Reno and Bödvard set her up with him? Come on its the first thing he told my mom after Cassidy and Volkov got married, do you still need more proof?” Honestly yes, I want to know one more thing..
“Here’s a question for you, how do you know all this stuff? Favourite colour? Favourite ice cream? My bestie?” He sighs and pats my shoulder, looking around him he started to list off the answers all correctly..
“First, it’s because I love you Jennifer. If you love somebody, you care enough to know everything about them. And as for colour it’s green, Ice cream flavour would be the TigersBlood, and why did you think I wouldn’t guess your bestie is Jaya?” Taking my hand he smiled, knowing he got those all correct.
“I’d say this is stalking, because it’s creepy how you knew all that..”
“Me stalking? You spy on me Jennifer, do you think I haven't notice it?” I could feel my face burn as he said that, I had no clue he knew that either!
“Come on admit it, Jennifer. You have a crush on me, don’t you?” I couldn’t even look him in the face, I was so embarrassed currently.
Just at that moment Jaya pokes her head back in, but this time shes followed by Dune and Diesel. I hadn’t realised that mom invited them over too, or maybe they just came over on their own? Sometimes they do that, because they want to.
“Oh Shade you know she does, we all know she does.” Jaya laughed as I shoot a crossed look at her, Dune spoke up and pat Shade’s shoulder.
“Hey bro, were gonna miss you. Are you going to come see us off tomorrow?” Shade nodded, but before he moved back he whispered in my ear.
“We’ll finish this conversation tomorrow morning okay Jennifer?” I nodded and Shade looked at Dune, hugging his friend he nodded.
“Of course Dune, I wouldn’t miss it for the world.” Just then A small grey bat flew in the window and perched on Jaya’s shoulder, rubbing the bats head she spoke.
“Awe you guys look, he’s adorable. Jennifer look.” We all looked at one another and Diesel snorted, as Dune elbowed Shade.
“Guys we should tell her...” They only watched Jaya cooing at my Brother in his bat form, which was kind of funny.
“Tell me what Jennifer?” Really you guys, this is mean to my brother.
“Your loving the attention aren’t you, Kage?” Jaya looks confused by this and it takes her a few seconds to realise and she looks at me wide eyed, crossing her arms my brother squeaks at her.
“Real nice Kage, can you not trick me like that? You guys know I love cute things..” We all laughed at that, we knew very well that she likes cute things.
“We know that Jaya, we also know Dune is in the category of “cute” in your definition.” Jaya’s face visibly got redder, even with her moms skin complexion you could still see the difference.
“Okay but really does anyone know why Hypernira is sending Dune, Diesel and Jaya to E-Earth?” Shade nodded and we all looked at him confused.
“You know why Shade? Spill it, why is she sending them away?” Shade breathed in deeply and sighed, looking at each of us in turn he spoke.
“She wants all of us, the Next Generation to earn are place in her Hall Of Legends. My dad told me he heard some of the other legends complaining that we didn’t do anything too earn are place here, they find it unfair that we we’re born into are statues..” Legends were unhappy with Us? But why, we didn’t choose to be born here..
“But what are supposed too do on Earth, My dad was survivor of an Apocalypse, mom was a mage. Zariel’s an angel Fait talks to start! Cassidy became an outlaw for the grater good, Volkov was a prince! What can we do?” Jaya was silent the whole time Diesel spoke, my brother squeaked some protests and Jaya shushed him, and typically he listens, Dune looked outside as my mother called too us from the door way.
“KIDS DINNER TIME!” We started down the ladder and me and Shade we’re the last ones left, grabbing my wrist he held me back.
“What are you doing Shade, we have to go in side.” He rolled his eyes and smiled at me.
“I’m doing this Jennifer, might as well while I have the chance...” The chance? What does he mean by that, he says it like were never seeing each other again.
“What do you mean by thAA-“ Thats when he ever so quickly pressed his lips agents mine, kissing me.
Having his lips dance agents mine was like eating fire, I didn’t know what too do I’ve never been kissed! But he apparently knew what to do, pulling me closer he directed my hands up and around his neck. Wrapping his arms around my waist he chuckled, pulling his face back are eyes met, and giving me his famous smile he spoke in a whisper.
“I’m coming with you guys tomorrow, and don’t try to stop me. I already told your mom, and my parents too. My dad is letting me take his twin swords and scythe, are you bringing anything with you?” I shook my head no, I’ve never used a weapon before.
“Are the others bringing theirs?” How would I know, I still don’t know if I’m actually going tomorrow.
“I’m not sure, I think Jaya’s bringing her mothers spear. I know Dune has his magic mother taught him, and Diesel has her guns as always. I don’t know about my brother, as for me no I have nothing to bring maybe my parents will give us something...” Shade was making a weird face at me, then I realised he was thinking. Shade always made weird faces when he was thinking about something, the better question is what is he thinking about or who?
“What are you thinking about Shade...?” He smiled and I jumped away from him as Diesel poked her head in, and groaned annoyed.
“Come on love birds were waiting on you guys, or we’re eating without you two!” Jumping down she raced inside, sometimes she is funny.
Diesel tries to be meh about stuff, and not care. One day she’ll like somebody, but I don’t know. If only Petra had a son, then they’d be perfect together! Shade lept off the tree house and landed gracefully on the ground, I wish I could do that. But all I’ve got are lame white dragon-like wings, I personally don’t like them but sometimes I do.
“COME ON JENNIFER! JUMP!” Looking down at Shade he nodded, anytime I lept off something my wings came out.
“You know I can’t! My Wings will just appear and stop my fall!”
“I KNOW! JUMP!” Okay, here goes nothing.
Taking a breath I lept off, in a matter of seconds my wings appeared to stop my fall. I willed my wings to stay, so they did. I could never fully control my own wings, wing beat after another I was safely on the ground. Shade smiled and held out his hand, taking his hand I could feel my wings wrapping around my waist and hooking together with the claw on the end of my wings.
(As Jennifer got inside her mother noticed her holding Shade’s hand and only smiled, once everyone ate dinner Volkov, Dune and Shade followed Kage to his bedroom.)
Me, Diesel, Jaya and my mother Cassidy we’re in my room having girly fun. Later Diesel joined the boys for their gaming fun, mom painted are nails and we watched “Twilight” later Diesel came back in her face was screaming help me, but she said nothing till mom spoke up.
“Diesel honey, what's wrong you look as if you seen a ghost?” Diesel shook her head as Jaya stopped painting my moms nails and looked up at Diesel, we all were interested in what made Diesel disturbed.
“The boys were being cute to each other, it was weird. Volkov is trying too hard to teach them how to act around a girl, or how to quote unquote attract a girl.” We all looked at one another and burst out laughing so hard even Diesel lightened up, and held out her fingers for Jaya to paint.
“Your going to let me paint YOUR nails?!” Diesel nodded and picked a rusty reddish black nail polish, handing it to Jaya, she basically squeaked out of pure joy.
“Don’t think this will become a thing, it’s just this once okay?” Jaya nodded still exited, I realised just how much she was like her mother.
“After the nail polish girls, we will have a sleep over in here okay?" We all nodded and later that night when everyone was a sleep, I snuck out and found Shade sitting outside in the moonlight.
Quietly watching from the window in the kitchen I might have stayed there gawking over him fo ra minute or so, pushing the back screen door open, Shade didn’t even have to look up too know it was me.
“Hey Jennifer....Can’t sleep, hu?" Sitting besides him I nodded, his shoulder bumped against mine.
I could feel his arm snake behind my back and rest on my waist, I kind of liked how bold he was being in his actions right now. Leaning my head on his shoulder I just relaxed, looking into the distance I saw lights...Rainbow coloured lights, then I realised it was the Northern Lights.
“So beautiful...” Nodding he laughed to himself amused, taking a deep breath he whispered softly.
"Yeah..."
“I was talking about you, but sure the lights are beautiful too..” I knew I was quite for too long and Shade just laughed, leaning his face closer be gave me a soft kiss on my forehead.
“Don’t think too hard about it Jennifer, tomorrow we all leave...” He was silent for a long while, I wasn’t sure what it was that made him go silent.
“Are you scared...?” Honestly, no I wasn’t scared I’d have my friends and my brother with me, but I was sad for all are parents, how would they feel after we left?
“Not really, I do wonder what everyone’s parents will do when we leave...” I could feel myself starting to get all tearful, rubbing my eyes Shade took that moment to hug me tightly.
“I do know this, they love you with their whole heart. And will miss us terribly, Jennifer we’ll be okay..” I knew Shade’s family reputations, his mother was a demon bride, his father an mercenary...But they had one thing common among them....They are true to their words, and keep a promise, secret or ANYTHING! Shade himself was true to his word, and kind hearted...I trusted him, with my life.
“I know Shade...” My eyes felt heavy and I knew I was getting tired, leaning into his arms I started to drift off to sleep.
I don’t remember falling a sleep, I woke up to Slate licking my cheek. Brushing the little guy aside I sat up to see Shade out cold, sprawled out on my arm chair. Quietly I swing my legs over the side of my bed and stood up, Slate climbed up my pant leg and up the back of my shirt. Licking my face greeting me good morning, I was still surprised are little bat friend stuck around after me and my brother healed his broken wing. Making my way to Shades side I crouched besides the arm chair and picking Slate up gingerly I held him in my palm, holding him in front of Shade’s face he gave him a slimy lick as a wake up call.
Shade’s eyes shot open and I covered my mouth too hide some giggles, standing up he rubbed his cheek. Once he was satisfied, he took Slate and set him down by his hanging fruit. To which he immediately started to nibble on the apple, and Shade took that moment when I was distracted by Slate to plant a kiss on my four head.
“Did you sleep okay last night? I also hope you don’t mind me bringing you upstairs to your room last night.” No I didn’t mind, I don’t have anything too hide from him.
“No, it’s okay. I see you made yourself at home on my arm chair, comfortable?” He shook his head no, and at that moment decided to pop his neck and back. Which made me scrunch up my nose, I didn’t like the sound when my dad did that it always creeped me out.
“Whats with the face, you look as if you saw a ghost.” I might as well have, that sound was creepy.
“I just don’t like that sound, it’s kinda creepy Shade. Just like you.” Smiling at him he slightly frowned, chuckling he smiled.
“Sure, Jennifer. You know you can be creepy too, in a cute way though?” I felt myself thinking about what did he mean by that, the I remembered my wings, pointy ears and my pearly white fangs.
“I had no choice about being part vampire, you know that Shade.” Shade made a cute face, he always made a cute confused face.
“I did not mean about you a vampire, I meant the spying on me thing was kinda creepy and yet cute.” Oh, wait what?
“Oh quit it, your just trying too hard to flatter me. Shouldn’t we be with the others downstairs eating before we leave? Today’s the big day remember?” Shade ran his fingers through his hair and thought for a second, then his eyes grew wide.
In less then a split second he raced from the room and down stairs, laughing I follow him but I didn’t run. I saw him vanish from sight around the corner, rounding the corner something grabs me. I couldn’t help it so I squeaked in surprise, looking behind me I saw Shade laughing so hard. I was embarrassed and annoyed, but it was kind of funny.
“Ha, ha real funny Shade. Last one to the kitchen is a toasty VAMPIRE!” Now I ran, and so far I was beating him.
As I ran through the halls I passed my dad, talking to are stone guardian Onyx. She must have come back from her trip to the FangWild, LUCKY! She can come and go between the mortal world and ours. Racing up to her I gave dad and Onyx a quick hug, and Onyx gave me a stoney grin.
“GOOD MORNING DAD! WELCOME BACK ONYX!” Racing ahead Shade was close behind, and I looked behind me in time to see my dad raise an eyebrow slightly confused and shrugged turning back to Onyx they started to talk.
Later was a big revealing of a new BattlePass, and a new Field! Although dad said I was too young, to try it out so..Yeah, but we can still see it before we leave. Running around the corner I was first in the kitchen, but I couldn’t stop in time to avoid running into..
“CASPIAN WATCH OUT!” I tried to stop witch caused Shade to run into me, sending us both into Caspian.
Caspian was groaning, and ran his hand through his rusty red hair. Shade lept off us and I was still stunned by the impact, Caspian looked at me and smiled. And another guy voice spoke that I recognised immediately, as are uncle.
“Caspian it’s early morning, save the child’s play till late okay pumpkin?” Shade helped me up, and I almost instantly ran and hugged Uncle Lucien.
Caspian stood up and brushed himself off, looking at Shade he shrugged apologetically. Turning around Caspian walked to the table in the other room, followed by Shade.
“Uncle Lucien, why are you and Uncle Caspian here? DON’T GET ME WRONG! I’m glad your both here, I was just not expecting you to be here.” Lucien smiled and I followed him into the dining room, were everyone else was eating Pancakes, eggs, beacon, Orange juice, milk, Cinnamon rolls, sweet cakes and much MORE!
“Whats all this Uncles? This is basically a royal feast!” My brother Kage, waited for a response, but the question was answered by my dad who at that moment surprised us all, was he there the whole time?
“Son, its a parting gift from your Uncles. Maybe a thank you would be better, don’t you all think so?” Diesel nodded and Lucien sat down besides my brother, Kage looked to dad then back at Lucien and Caspian.
“What does everyone else have to say?” As if planed we all spoke in unison, except two of us said Uncle.
“Thank you Uncle Lucian and Uncle Caspian, for breakfast!” Father was pleased with the thanks and abandon the room again, leaving to hang out with mom in their room probably.
Later when everyone had their fill on food, Diesel, Dune, Jaya and Shade left to go home for their stuff. And when they get back we’d go with Petra to see the new stadium in her home town of Terminus, I was excited to see her home town. It’s supposed too be the source of DarkHeart Crystals, which is the source of her raw power. I was laying on the couch in my bedroom when my brother flew in, AND in his bat form non the less! Landing on my shoulder he watch me type away on my computer Aunt Val gave me for my birthday, it was a brand new laptop that she found laying in a dumpster on the mortal world.
Sometimes she makes trips down to E-earth, for stuff. Like this Laptop for example, or the phone she gave me and my brother. MBFC throws out tones of working stuff, we basically got all are electronic’s from them. Which is kind of sad, since most of us HATE them. Kage prodded at my neck with his small wet cold nose, rubbing my neck he squealed in protest.
“What is is Kage you know I can’t understand you, so you’re going too have to turn back.” He liked being a “free little bat” in his words, more then being a boy, my BROTHER!

Protesting he awkwardly climbs my sleeve, and gets to the keyboard of my laptop and starts typing away. For a bat he managed just fine, which was kind of funny and impressive. In a few seconds he typed “Sister are you nerves about leaving all we have ever known about behind?” Yeah honestly I was nervous, SCARED even!
“Yeah Kage, I am. But on the bright side we’ll have Dune, Diesel, Shade and Jaya with us. Last night mom said Galixia might even be coming too, even though she is young...I’m scared brother, I don’t want anyone to leave..” I could feel myself about to cry, but I tried my best too hold it back.
Kage climbed off me and I could hear the noise of him turning to his human form again, then he hugged me around my neck.
“We’ll be okay Jennifer, we will..” I knew deep down we would be okay, I just didn’t know what too expect.
My brother stayed that was hugging me for a few minutes, until we heard mothers voice from down stairs. Reminding us too get ready, Kage lets go to doo his light weight packing. Sadly I was already done packing, putting my back pack on I made my way down stairs as my phone started to vibrate. Reaching in the pocket of my back pack I pulled out my phone, looking at the screen I see a message from Petra saying she’ll be here soon with Nix. She said she’d be here in like maybe five minutes or so, calling up the stairs my brother peeked out from his room.
“Petra said she’ll be here very soon with Nix, so hurry UP!” Going back into his room, he took a little bit longer to get out here.
Pushing his door open he heaved a backpack up on his back, looking at the door I saw the silhouettes of people at are door. Racing to the door I throw it open to find are friends are back with their stuff, Dune held two bags one was a sandy colour and the other was a brown with a slight rose tint to it, probably Jaya’s bag then. Jaya held her mothers spear, Diesel held her guns at her belt AND she held a tattered old bag filled barely with anything, and Shade held black bag over his should, and his twin swords were in his belt and his dads Scythe was in his hand.
“Jaya do you have the horn’s?” She nodded, holding up a small velvet bag she opened it and handed us each a horn.
“Now mom said there would be one for each of us, when we need a Valkyrie we should blow on the horn, but in the mortal world we can only use it once in a dire moment. So we’ll use it when Petra gets here then after we leave...Save them, incase we are in trouble okay guys?” We all nodded at her, Jaya’s mom always lent or gave us stuff to help us.
We waited a few more minutes until we heard a screech from the distance, looking in the direction of the sound we could see a bear like animal walking....NO Running towards us, then I saw Petra’s pinky raspberry arm waving at us. Then I realised the bear like thing she was on was Tempest, the Raven Bear. Tempest was a black RavenBear Valkyrie, she had mostly the body shape of a bear with black feathers covering her body, she had the head of a raven, and front paw-ish talons. But she was a sweetheart, she was extremely gentle and gorgeous. Coming to a halt in front of us, she and Nix got down and fastens are bags to Tempest saddle.
“Okay who’s ready to go see, my hometowns new FIELD?!” We all were exited about it, even Diesel looked particularly interested in going to see it.
Petra blew into the horn, and a few seconds passed as a few more Valkyrie’s showed up that included, a dark grey dragon, a green one, and a bat one. Me and Jaya called him Smokey, he was a sweet Valkyrie.
Me, Jaya and Kage got on Tempest, Dune and Diesel rode on Smokey and Petra and Nix ride on Drake. We all carrie are stuff, and we speed off on are way. After an hour of flying, we come to the outskirts of Terminus, at the edge of Terminus Petra lead us into town. Following closely Nix brought up the rear end of the group, Petra’s hometown was slightly hostile. Making are way past piles, and piles of DarkHeart crystals. Stopping us, she faced towards us.
“If you kids want too take a crystal speak up now, nobody will miss them and I’ll send Tempest to Ulgrim to make pendents out of them. Just hand them too me, actually raise your hand if you’d like one.” Literarily everyone raised their hands, and Shade was half up not so sure if he wanted one, or if he was copying everyone else.
“Okay so how meany does everyone want, raise your fingers so Nix can take count.” I held one finger up, Kage held two, shade held one, Diesel held up two, Dune held up one, Jaya held both hands up all fingers up.
“You want 10 Jaya, what ever for that meany?” Jaya blushed embarrassed, and she muttered softly.
“I-I-I wanted extra for. . . New friends we make along the way, and incase Galixia comes too. . .” Ohhh I didn’t think about that, smart idea.
“Okay, thats fair. Take your crystals, and please put them in this bag with the note for Ulgrim Nix wrote.” We all took are crystals and placed them in the bag, and Nix slips a small note in the bag with it. Handing it too Tempest she whispered to her, a few seconds later Tempest rose into the air and flew off.
“Will she be back Petra?” Nix nodded and Petra spoke as we followed her, and she waved her hand as she spoke.
“She will be back with the finished Pendants, shes going to pick up Munin and Hugin to help Ulgrim make them. So their ready for you guys in time, BUT in the mean time TA DA!” Looking around us, I saw mountains of crystals surrounding a empty field witch had a oddly shaped dome above it.
It wasn’t even a dome actually, more like a box square. Petra pulled a lever and the box-like dome pulled in half revealing a tunnel going up into the dark sky,
