Hello I am BurtBoard. I help run a Minecraft server which has population increasing daily, but is struggling to receive donations from our players. Since the server costs about 20-25$ a month to run, we decided on a 100$ goal to reach in 30 days. The reward for this would be a creative plot-me world, which we currently do not feature. But within 8 days, we had only reached a tenth of the goal.
Then the idea hit me...an expansion pack! Why not upgrade a players game for 5 dollars or less! We could provide a new class in our Mob Arena that would be exclusive to anyone who bought the expansion pack, maybe a extra-powerful PVP weapon to face off with...or perhaps infected maps to make it all the better!
So me and the server owner looked over the idea, and we thought it might work...but what do you think? Could server expansion packs help increase donation popularity, perhaps population in your server overall? Or would it be giving too many advantages to players who can afford more? You decide, comment below on your suggestion.
