Feed-The-Beast is another mod pack much like the technic pack in a way as which it has its own installer and directory to not overlap your .minecraft.
It is also in 1.4.2 and contains all the features of that update.
It has a SSP and SMP versions, along with a free server download on their website.

It is a very good mod combination and the biome mods make the game amazing to play on, the server may lag a little when using the portal gun rapidly but otherwise it is amazing. Play around with it for yourself and head to feed-the-beast.com/
