Well, here's Gandalf lighting theway with his Staff of Power.

My theories about Gandalf's Staff:
Gandalf is trapped in Dol Guldur, being tortured by the Dark Lord. Radagast reaches Lothlorien, telling Galadriel of Gandalf's plight. Galadriel notifies Elrond, but not Saruman, based on his approval of any sort of questing at the last White Council meeting. Elrond, Galadriel, and Radagast, plus a squad of Elven soldiers march to Dol Guldur from Lothlorien. A CGI filled bloody battle ensues on Dol Guldur. Gandalf is saved. Galadriel uses the power of her Ring to withdraw Saruman back to the Void for a time, leaving Dol Guldur a barren hill. Mirkwood is cured of Sauron's evil, and Radagast withdraws his presence, feeling his task in Middle Earth is done. Radagast forgets his staff, lost in the heat of battle, and Gandalf picks it up. The staff instantly transforms into the second staff, seen in Lord of the Rings.

Proof for the theory:
- Radagast was never seen nor spoken of in any of the Lord of the Rings movies.
- They cut out the Siege of Dol Guldur from the last Lord of the Rings, and since Gandalf is trapped after the events of Desolation of Smaug, it would make sense that the White Council saves him.
- Gandalf has a completely new staff from the ones seen in LOTR
- According to LOTR Wikia, when Elrond went to search for Radagast at his homestead in Rhosgobel, he found the place to be empty and void of presence.
- Gandalf can make a staff out of thin air apparently, as it is never explained how Gandalf got his staff back from being held captive at Orthanc during the first movie (or how he got back Glamdring...)
