How to get shaders
Hello! This is a simple tutorial on how to get shaders for your minecraft! It includes Sonic Ethers Unbelievable Shaders.
Step 1
Look at the bottom of this page, all necessary downloads are there. Download all three files.
Step 2
Open minecraft. Go to Options>Texture Packs, then click open texture pack folder at the bottom left. The texture pack folder will open, once you are there, you will need to go to its enclosing folder (.minecraft/minecraft).
Close minecraft.
Step 3
Once you are in the minecraft folder, click on a folder named 'bin', you will then see a few different files. We are interested in minecraft.jar. To open minecraft.jar, please download one of these programs:
WinRAR (Windows)
WinZip (Mac)
Once you have one of these programs, right click minecraft.jar, then select Open With>WinRAR/Winzip.
Step 4
Once it opens you will see a large array of different files. Search for one named Meta-INF, then delete it.
Once you have deleted it, open the Optifine folder you downloaded, select all the files in there and drag them into your minecraft.jar.
Do the same for the Shaders Mod files you downloaded, drag them in.
Step 5
Start up minecraft. If you have followed all the steps properly, your minecraft should open without any issues.
Go back to your .minecraft/minecraft folder, and, another folder called 'shader packs' should have been generated. If it hasn't, it doesn't matter.
Step 6
Open the SEUS Shaders you downloaded. If the 'shaderpacks' folder did generate, just drag the two .zip files from the shaperpack folder you downloaded, into the minecraft shaderpacks folder.
If it didn't generate, drag the whole shaderpacks folder you downloaded into your minecraft/.minecraft folder.
Step 7
The final step... open minecraft and go to options>shaderpack, once your there, both shaderpacks should be available.
Well done! You've got shaders!
