I discovered a fantastic seed to start survival mode in 1.2.5! the seed is this: HERO!!!
This seed spawns you in a relatively flat area with many trees, cows for food and leather, wolves to tame, and a little bit farther away from spawn there are hills and exposed coal. I was just messing around when i discovered the seed.
