"This is 9-1-1, what is your emergency?"

"My kids and I are hearing gun fire from across the street, we don't know what's going on-"

"Hold on, where are you right now?"

"In our house, we're on 1926 Park lane, please come quick, we're really scared."

"Don't worry, police has been dispatched to your location."

The audio file ended, the police chief still very uneasy. "Brannigan!" A short, fat man dressed in riot gear ran towards the SWAT van, "Yes, chief?" The police chief unplugged the flash drive and threw it towards the fat man, "Go take this somewhere, I don't care where, tell them it's the original 9-1-1 call. Move it!" The fat officer ran off, with the police chief still inside the SWAT van. The chief turned around to look at the two other men in the van, the tall, muscular SWAT captain and a short, hairy officer. "Okay, brief me on everything that's happened since the call." the chief asked the officer. The hairy officer pulled out a folder, turned a couple of pages, then began to read out loud,

"At 8:42 PM, seven minutes after the 9-1-1 call, officers Vaught and Davison arrived at the scene to hear two shots fired from 1922 Park lane. They approached the house and knocked on the door, to hear a man yelling for them to go away." The officer turned the page, "Davison knocked on the door again, only to hear another gun shot, this time towards them. Officers Vaught and Davison fell back to their squad car and called for backup." The police chief motioned for the officer to stay quiet. The chief payed extra attention to the commotion outside, but didn't hear anything out of the ordinary. "Okay, continue." The chief told the hairy man.

"At 8:55 PM, two more squad cars pulled up to the house. No more gunfire had been heard since officer Davison was shot at. The officers attempted again to enter the house, when the man threatened to kill the hostages inside. The officers fell back once more, and reported to dispatch that there was a hostage situation." The man turned the page once more. "At 9:12 PM, SWAT and several other squad cars pulled onto the scene." The police officer stopped reading. "Thank you. What's our next course of action, commander MacNab?" The chief asked the tall SWAT commander. "We have identified that there are at least two hostages inside, a child and a mother. They're inside the living room, with the hostage taker moving randomly through out the house. Our plan is to storm the house through the front and back doors, secure the hostages, then search for the man." The police chief stepped out of the van. "Well, let's do it then."

Sarah was tied with duct tape around her ankles and her wrists. She had been tied up this way for what felt like hours, though she knew it had only been about 30 minutes. At least she was allowed to sit up against the wall and look around. Her seven year old son, Tommy, was sitting tied up beside her, finally asleep. He had been crying this entire time, with a tear or two still rolling down his cheek. Sarah knew everything would be okay, she could see the flashing lights of the police cars through the curtains of the window. At least he didn't separate me and Tommy Sarah thought to herself. The crazed man walked into the living room again, gripping his pistol like it was all he had left. He carefully walked over to the curtains and peeked out of them. "This looks like trouble, they're stirring over there, those worms.." The man looked towards Sarah, "Don't you be getting any ideas in your head, or I might have to blow it off, then the boy's next." The crazed man then walked back into the room he came from, still gripping his gun. Sarah hung her head and quietly cried.

Meanwhile, six men were busy in the SWAT van donning their armor and grabbing their guns. Their belts were full of flash and tear gas grenades, while their guns were full of bullets ready to be shot. The black armored men jumped out of the van and ran towards the house. Three of them stopped at the front door, taking positions around it so as not to be seen from the window, while the other three ran around the side of the house. A man at the front door talked into his headset, "Alpha team is in position." A few seconds passed until he heard a voice crackle in response "We copy, be ready to go on our mark." The other three men on the side of the house climbed over the fence gate and into the backyard. They then ran around to the screen door in the back of the house. Curtains had been pulled over the door, so the men didn't have to worry about being seen. "Bravo team is in position." A few seconds passed, "We copy, go on our mark. Three, two, one, breach!"

Sarah thought of what had lead up to this. She remembered how her husband had left for a work trip, leaving her and their son home alone that week. She remembered how she and Tommy were watching the news just two hours ago, when it was talking about a murderer running on the loose in their neighborhood. She remembered how a man came up to their door, saying that he needed to use their phone to call someone, only to close and lock the door as Sarah let him in, then pulled a gun on her. She remembered how he shot their TV and other valuable things in their home to try and scare them. She remembered when the police first came to the door, and the man shot at them as well. She remembered how Tommy cried as the man threatened to kill him while he was tieing them up. She remembered staring down the barrel of a gun, while the man threatened her as well.

Tommy woke up to the sound of the front and back doors being smashed open. Men in black armor invaded his home, carrying the biggest guns he had ever seen. After a few seconds, one of the men walked over to him, "Everything's going to be okay, just stay put." Tommy started crying again, while his mother started yelling for help from the men. Police officers ran into the house while the six gunmen searched the rest of the home. A short, fat officer ran up to them and took out a knife "It's okay, my name's Brannigan, I'm here to help you and your son." he cut the duct tape restraints, first on Tommy, then on his mother. Sarah stood up, "You go ahead, ma'am, your son is safe with me.", Tommy cried while his mom ran out of the house. The fat man picked up Tommy and carried him out of the house, towards the flashing lights of the cars on the street. "It's okay, kid, everything's going to be okay." Tommy heard gunshots from the house, which only intensified his crying. "It's okay, I got you, your safe now." Tommy was reunited with his mother, who was also crying. The police officer left and came back with blankets for both of them. A voice crackled over his radio, "The suspect has been detained." Sarah held Tommy and cried with him, "Everything's okay now, Tommy. Everything's okay now."

The crazed man barely remembered the ride back to the police station, barely remembered being thrown into jail and his gun being taken away, barely remembered being convicted and thrown into prison. All he remembered, was revenge.
