We've all been there! We just get onto a server and think "Oh there is a place to sign up for mod, I should try," and then when you don't get it everything crashes down: You start yelling, get kicked, keep on yelling, get banned. So here is my tutorial on how to become a mod.


Chapter 1: Start Off Simple
So you have just found an awesome server and they are asking you to sign up for their forums. You go onto the website and the first thing you notice is... a moderator application forum! My first advice to you would have to be: Don't do the application. You will never get the job (unless you know the owner in real life) with "Just Joined" on it. Start off simple! Get to know the server and it's members.

Chapter 2: Don't be a Jacka**
Now you've been playing on the server for a couple weeks and you think you know the server. When people ask a question your reply is "That's a stupid question, of course you type /spawn" or something along those lines. This, my friend, will never get you mod. Admins and owners watch your every move and know who's fit for being a mod and who isn't. Generally the most mods chosen are the ones who listen to everyone's question and answers it nicely.

Chapter 3: Second Attempt
How long have you been playing? A month? A month and 1/2? Well whatever amount you've played it is still a good idea to try now. You may not get it, but now the person accepting mods know you. So he will constructively criticize you on how you should make your application, how to make the application better, and so on. Of course some people get mod from this second attempt, like me.

Chapter 4: Aftermath
So you have finally gotten mod! Although, you are making bad choices. No? Well it's a proven fact that 88% of moderators on a server get banned or de-opped for being rude, narcissistic, or even just a general dou***. You don't want to be one of those moderators, you want to be the one that is kind to everybody and can help anybody.
