Hey guys, aboveordinary here with a way to make exemplary Youtube videos. I've seen many posts on PMC asking for ways to improve video quality on youtube. Hopefully this can serve as a guide to better the content provided on your channel. If I miss anything, please feel free to post in the comments your thoughts or suggestions. Keep in mind that you could still have a decent channel without having all of these qualities but they certainly do help. Without further ado, let's get started.

1. Purchase or download a decent recorder. This seems obvious but many people grab free recorders that run at a low fps and have a watermark at the top or bottom. I recommend Fraps, it's 40 dollars but that's a minor investment if you really want to record. I've also heard about dxtory from some people (which is free) but I haven't used it so I can't recommend it.

2. Make sure that you can record at a decent FPS (Frames Per Second). This will give your viewers a better experience overall and help ensure they check out other videos. A steady 30fps is a decent amount (60fps would be recommended as that is the highest amount that humans can sense) and it doesn't take an excellent computer to do. If you are having troubles with FPS, I would recommend downloading and installing Optifine, it will generally boost your frames to a decent level.

3. If you plan on talking in your videos, try to keep your background noise to a minimum. You don't need a perfect mic, just make sure you don't have dogs barking, children screaming, parents screaming, spouses screaming, etc. Try to record at a time where nobody is in the house or they're asleep, etc.

4. This is really important if you plan on talking in your videos, make sure you are happy/awake. The worst videos are the ones that you have to sit through and watch when the commentator isn't having fun or is yawning in their videos.

5. Try to edit out any lulls in the video. ie. you are playing survival but are almost dead and box yourself up for 2 minutes to regen health. This is not only boring for you, but it's also boring for the viewers. Also, mining on camera can get tedious if done excessively, if I wanted to stare at stone for 40 minutes, I would have mined in my survival.

6. Be original This is also a very important part of youtube. You won't be recognized if you do exactly what someone else does. Chances are, they have a better quality than you and that's why you watch them and not the other way around. If you focus on doing the things that no one else has done, people will take notice and start watching you. If you are going to do something cliche, put your own spin on it.

7. Don't record the same things over and over. It's fun to watch someone build a house but if you watch someone build the same exact house 10 times, it becomes less fun. It's ok to do series of videos, just don't make each one exactly alike.

8. Avoid minigames and hungergames like the plague. That is all.

9. Lastly and most important Make Youtube videos because you want to, not because you want subscribers/money/views. If you make videos because you want to, people will notice that and your channel will grow anyway.

If I missed this, I'm sorry--post in the comments if you would like me to add something-- Remember, this is just about your video quality, not your entire channel. Don't forget to sub or leave a diamond if you enjoyed. My channel is here so you can judge me on my work HERE. I hope you guys enjoyed my very first blog! Thanks and have a great day, aboveordinary.

I actually like Bandicam better the . It has the DirectX and OpenGL, as well as a rectangle on a screen. I just don't like bandicam's ways of quality. I can't tell the difference between 40 and 60 quality. But yeah, Fraps is good. I have it, but it just takes up too much framerate and resources.

I don't have any problems with Fraps. Everyone is entitled to their opinion I guess

I thought you can only see 24 fps or 25.

Nope, humans can sense anything that is about 60fps or less. At 200fps, people might start to get headaches unless artificial motion blur is added. Don't ask me where I found this, I just remember reading it in a technology website/magazine. Probably CNN Tech or PC gamer etc.
