Recently I have seen a shocking drop in the effort made to hide fake texturepacks, people just copy paste from some of the best known minecraft cinematic videos, others are pathetic enough just to steal images from fortress craft.
Now. Sadly. People have have been downloading these texture packs, not knowing the risks that these pose to your PC, most of these fake texture packs have viruses hidden in them, others are just the default texture pack.
Now, I am here to teach all of you how to determine a fake texture pack, it is very simple. The stages I use are shown below.
- Always read the comments first, not matter what texture pack you are looking at, It may be stolen and the comments may enlighten you to this.
- Hover over the download button until the download site is shown, anything that is not mediafire or other free download sites are most certainly trying to scam you by making you complete endless amounts of surveys.
- Even if the download link says mediafire, click on it and see where the link takes you, mediafire may just be used as a cover-up for the real link.
- Use your brain!. This is a very important thing to do, if it looks too good to be true, well guess what, It is too good to be true and is fake, For example, today I seen another of the " ULTRA-HD DOWNLOAD NOW DIMUNDZDIMUNDZDIMUNDZDIMUNDZDIMUNDZDIMUNDZDIMUNDZDIMUNDZ" Texture pack posts, sadly I seen that the download button was clicked over 400 times, Facepalm did not come close.
Now, one last thing. Is the text in the description colourful and spaced apart like this ?

If it is then it is most likely fake, if you think differently then check the comments to see what other people think, but even if only one person says it is fake or stolen, don't give a diamond or like or comment in a positive way, flag it and troll to your hearts content, I recommend keeping your comment on copy and paste simply because the person will surely delete any comments saying the pack is fake etc..If your comment is deleted then paste it back in.
