Quick video showing how to get the default textures for Minecraft.
This is SUPER handy if you're creating a resource pack and don't wanna miss anything.

This is SUPER handy if you're creating a resource pack and don't wanna miss anything.
For those that don't wanna watch the video:
- Download WinRar, 7-Zip, or a similar program
- Open the Minecraft Launcher and launch the most recent version of the game
- Close the game after launching to the title screen
- navigate to C:\Users\<yourusername>\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\versions (ONLY IF YOU DID DEFAULT MC INSTALL)
- Select your version and open the .jar file with your program of choice (7-zip, winrar, etc.)
- Drag the "assets" folder into another folder in your resources pack folder located in .minecraft
- Delete the folders you don't want
- add your pack.png (256x256 image) and pack.MCMETA (text file) to the folder that "assets" exists in
- Done!
