how to keep my items on death without mods

To keep your inventory/items on death you need to enter the world that you want this to happen in. Once in type
/gamerule keepInventory true
to undo this type
/gamerule keepInventory false

This is very well known and not very helpful, perhaps you could do one on how to keep your inventory on singleplayer. This is just a suggestion.

Just try the command on a singleplayer world, It works plenty of times for me, and I dont have a mod installed
