Hello,everyone

This is "How to portfoward with a wirless computer"

Ok before we start make sure that you're using windows as an operating system, you can portfoward with any operating system, but this methed may not work with other operating systems.

1. First you need to run cmd.exe, open start menu and write cmd in the search bar or go to programs/accessories/command prompt.

2. In the cmd prompt type "ipconfig" then scroll up to "Wirless LAN adapter Wirless network connections: "

3. Take note of the ip adress next to "default gateway".

4. Type this ip as an address in you internet browser, this should bring up your router home page.Look for a button called virtual servers or port fowarding or anything like that and click it.

5. next the first thing you should see is something like "description" call it what you like I recomend you call it the same as your server's name

6. next to it you should see something called inbound port you can type any avaible ports in it, try 25565.

7. Then you should see something like "type" with choices, chose TCP&UDP.

8. Now you need to insert the private Ip adress, you can find it in your cmd proumte. Type ipconfig once again in your cmd prompt.

9. Scroll up to "Wirless LAN adapter Wirless network connections:" and look at the ip address next to "ip address" (might be ipv4 or ipv6 )

10. Only the last number in the adress is important type this numer in the private ip adress on the router's web site.

11. You will now need to insert a private port on the router's web site type the same one as written in the inbound port.

12. Now you have inserted all the needed info, check the enable box to enable it ( server running) or uncheck it to disable it (server down) , once done click on a button such as "apply changes or save "

13. If this is for your minecraft servers type the entire private ip adress in your minecraft server.properties file. (server-ip=xxx.xxx.x.x)

Now run your server if you have any problems including ports try changing you private and inbound port.

Thank you for reading :).

You missed the fact of needing to set up a static IP, which although easy, is a critical step when portforwarding.

It's with the computer and router itself. Setting a static on the computer differs from OS to OS, and so does the process of reserving an IP on the router.

The basic's of it is finding the IP on your computer, finding the IP reservation on the router, and reserving that IP to the MAC of the device in question. The MAC will be easy to find if you have the IP of the computer your assigning the static to.

Hmmm that's odd when I Port forwarded my server it didn't need a static IP, maybe it's because my server was classic ( on the web) ?

Might be...I've never looked into classic servers before, so I wouldn't know for sure.
