Hello Minecrafters!
Recently I have become addicted to the Hypixel arcade minigame, The Blocking Dead. If you don't know what The Blocking Dead is, it is basically a zombie apocalyse game in which you must loot chests for supplies and survive for 10 minues to win. If you have heard of The Blocking Dead, you will probably agree with me when I say that it has been around for a while, and lacks recent development. However, it is NOT a dead minigame, as I have never seen a shortage of players in its lobby -- People still play it. Why is that? Because it is a very complex game, with multiple strategies and ways of winning. In other words, it lacks monotony, with a different game almost every time (also you can get a decent amount of coins from killing zombies). Using my experience playing the game, I have created a WIP guide to different strategies and locations in the game.
General Strategies:
-AIM FOR THE HEAD! Headshots are an instant kill, which helps conserve ammo.
-Only use the pistol, as its ammo is abundant.
-Use the shotgun for swarms, and the M-16 for emergencies, large hoards, or the rescue period
-Pick off any straggling zombies, but do not draw the hoard's attention to you. They won't let you hear the end of it.
-Help a pal out by shooting some pursuing zombies. A teammate isn't a good one if it's dead.
Locations:
Gameplay Stategies:
Nomad:
Wander around, looting everything. You will get a lot of supplies, but might die if you don't watch you back.
Camper:
Go out and get a decent amount of supplies while zombies are scarce. Then find some other players and camp in a defensible location (i.e. the church) and wait there until the rescue zone is announced.
Streetfighter:
Stay in the wide open streets, and try to skirt around the swarms of zombies while shooting them.
Noob:
Stay by one chest, looting it when it refills, and leave most of the fighting to someone else. Then die because you didn't watch your teammate's back, and now the zombies come for you :P

Locations:
Lake
An island really close to spawn, with 2 chests. Don't stay here for long, as there is better loot elsewhere. If this is the rescue zone, then everyone must face a different direction and shoot all zombies or you will be easily overtaken. Flee to the water if zombies start to kill players on the island.
School
Very open, with decent chests. A good place to get food. You could become surrounded, as zombies can spawn aon all sides of you in the hallway. If this is the rescue zone, position yourself so you can shoot at both exterior entrances, and retreat to the classroom if things get ugly.
Gym
Only 2 chests, with 2 doors wide open for zombies to flood in. If this is the rescue zone, you will need at least 2 survivors. They can cover 1 of 2 doors, or in case of emergency, position yourself under the bleachers so that someone can shoot out of each side.
Bank
REALLY good loot, but also very hazardous. Zombies love this place. The vault has 3 chests with lots of loot (ammo, health-packs, armor). Th vault also only has 1 entrance, so it is very defensible.
Junkyard
Has lots of ammo, but is practically a death maze. Zombies can sneak up behind you, so this is probably best looted durring the early game.
Gas Station
Meh. It has OK loot, but zombies will surround you if you're not careful. Hide in the convenience shop if you become overrun and shoot out of the doorway.
Crop Field
Don't, just don't. In the tall grass. not only can you not see where you are going in the tall grass, but you also cannot see the zombie in front of you! There is literally no point of going here, as there is only food in the chests.
Barn
A decent place to get food and other ammo, but you might be attacked from behind in the open space. Luckily there is a wide door you can run out of. Stand on top of a hay bale where you can guard both entrances if this is the rescue zone.
Farmhouse
There is OK loot, but zombies can easily trap you upstairs if there is a lot of them, so be careful. Stand on top of the stairs is this is the rescue zone.
Church
Very defensible, and one of the better places to camp. Many players choose to stay here until the rescue zone is announced, as you can cover both entrances from the podium (just watch out for those who spawn behind you). People also puppy-guard the chest in the back, so loot it while you can. If it gets run over by zombies before the rescue period, leave if you can, because zombies will not stop coming, and many of the people here will die and become zombies. Also, take caution if you decide to go next-door to loot the graveyard, as many people don't come back alive.
Graveyard
Many chests hidden throughout the tombstones, but it is very dark and hard to see things.
Police Station
Literal suicide. There is A TON of ammo, but the zombies do not stop coming. What good is ammo when you are dead?

I normally post redstone devices, but I find informative blogs quite useful and enjoyable to make as well. So I plan to release more in the future!
