Hey PMC! This is my first blog and it's about how to use the recently added Minecraft Realms feature. To start, let me tell you guys what MC realms is. Basically MC realms is an easy to use Minecraft server hosting tool. You can purchase subscriptions in game  and the only thing you need is a bank account and a credit card. Currently you can choose from three subscription lengths:
1 month, 3 months, and 6 months. One month costs about thirteen dollars but if you're looking for a longer subscription I would reccomend a 3 month or 6 month subscription for a better use of your money. Once you have realms set up re-open Minecraft and click the realms button and your new server should appear there. To invite people to your server press the confugure button and the player list should appear just type in their user name and they should be able to hop on as soon as they see the invite. In the configure menu you can also reset the world, switch the map temporarily to a minigame, and switch the name and description of the realm.

Minigames: As I mentioned before, you can temporarily switch the map to a minigame. You have a choice between Cake Defense, Autospleef, Blocks V.S Zombies, Dash of Doom, and The Walls. If I missed one please tell me in the comments. To start a minigame click configure and press "switch to minigame" and select the game you want. The only game that doesn't require two people is Cake Defense but you will still want to play with a friend. Once you're done with your minigame go back to the configure menu and press "end minigame" to switch back to your regular map.

I hope you found this useful! Feel free to diamond if this tutorial helped you! =D

Good tutorial, but you  could add info for stuff like the minigames and templates.

Wouldn't it be cheaper (free) to just home-host your own Bukkit sevrer? Plus it'd be easier.

Would it be cheaper; yes. Does everyone know how to port forward? Certainly not.

The server would also be to far for your friend (or whoever it is you want to play with) to connect to it

You're thinking of LAN, not Bukkit
