Level 3 : Apprentice Engineer

I was wondering how much java you need to know to make a mod? See I was thinking about learning java. And im trying to come up with things that I can do by learning this. I run a minecraft server and im using bukkit on it. And I wanted to make some mods for it. So can anybody explain or help me? Please comment!

Bukkit uses a plugin API So there is no need to kno java to make bukkit plugins u must only kno the API also for sp u need to be at least decent at java to make a mod so prepare for LOTS of practice norm takes 6 months or more to become good enough tho I would encourage it as it is a good language to kno sense basically all modern apps for phones use it
