Hi! I will be showing you how to install HD Textures and Mods not directly supported by Mojang and Minecraft.
Programs needed
MC Patcher- http://www.minecraftdl.com/mcpatcher-hd-fix/
Mod Loader- http://www.minecraftdl.com/modloader-risugami-download/
I will show you an example of installing an HD Texture pack, for Mods it is the same exact thing just a different file.
Adding Mod Loader to Mc Patcher
1.) Open MC Patcher
2.) Click the plus button and find where you downloaded Mod Loader and double click it to add to MC Patcher.
3.) Press patch and you are done!
Installing The Texture/Mod
1.) Choose the Texture/Mod you would like to use, I will be using OCD Texture Pack for this example.
OCD Texture: http://www.planetminecraft.com/texture_pack/ocd-pack/
2.) Open MC Patcher and close Minecraft if it is open.
3.) Click the plus button at the bottom, then find the texture/mod you have just downloaded. Double click it to add it to MC Patcher.
4.) After you have added your texture or mods, click the patch button and wait til that is finished
5.) You are done! When you start Minecraft your mods will be installed and your texturepack will be installed.
Note: MC Patcher takes a texturepack of your choice, and copies it over your default texture. To get your default texture pack simply force update minecraft. This also works to remove mods.
If this proccess does not work try going into your Minecraft bin folder and deleting Meta-INF
Info on Mods
Player API is a program that is a way to assist in making some mods work such as Smart Movement. Without that in your MC Patcher some mods will not work but it is not a requirement for all mods. That can be found here

If you like my tutorial give me a diamond and a comment! Diamonds are so easy to give and help me to keep making more tutorials.
If something is wrong/incorrect leave a comment and I will fix it if I can :D Thank you
