I know I do these a lot, but today I just had another idea for a story
Was it a mistake to go near the Void's edge? Yes. Yes it was. Falling off into the Void was not going to be the highlight of my day. But falling forever until I died would give me a lot of time to think over my life choices.
Want me to describe the scenery? Blackness. Just empty blackness. Nothing else really. In the darkness I can't really tell which way is up and which way is down anymore. In the Void there isn't any life, you could say it's void of life I suppose, but it's also void of everything else. No wind. No land. No gravity. If you fell off the encroaching edge, you fell forever until you died. That's why most people who worked near the edge carried a small vial of poison. Eventually, if the fell, they could end their falling. Well, now that I think about it, they technically would keep falling. I patted my pockets for the second time. I didn't work on the edge, so I had no vial. Guess I would spend the rest of my life falling.
Something on the edge of my vision sparkled and caught my eye. I tried to swerve my body around to see it better. It was definitely something glowing out here in the Void. I studied it more.
"Is that....a house?" I said to myself. I flailed my arms in the air in an attempt to get closer. It was definitely a house. And I guess that it was below me, because I started falling toward it. Actually falling. "Shi-"
Thump. I rolled over and massaged my bruised chin.
"That was painful," I muttered. Inside the house I saw a light on, so I stood up and opened the door. Turns out no one lived in this house, because the door opened to a blank white space. Down below I could see some chairs, so at least I know there is a bottom. I looked out into the void, then back inside. My life couldn't get any worse, so I jumped onto one of the chairs.
Hello traveler. What brings you to by humble abode? I emitted a short squeak in surprise. No one was in the strange room with me.
"Uh, where are you? Better yet, who are you?"
I am here, and I am no where.
"That's cryptic," I said, "But you didn't say who you are," I saw a dark female figure spring up out of the whiteness.
I am the Void.

Nice writing.
How did he (or she) fall?
