This is Kay the handmaid's Backstory.

Start:
As a kid, Kay was self-conscious, scared, and did not have a good family life.
Her family was always fighting, and she had no siblings, She went to a boarding school, and a very strict one.
On weekends she would run from home to the library, reading was the only happy thing she knew.
As a young teen, she ran from home for good, at just 13, then she started working as a maid in the castle at 14.
She one day became well-known in the castle and made real friends with the royal family, especially the kids, they were her age and therefore could relate to her.
She became after this, a brave, broken, loving person, and now lives in the castle, as the personal handmaid for Princess Aria.
