“Steve! You have a big day tomorrow, get some sleep!”
“Just a minute, Alex.”

You look at the time, it’s 11:30PM. You realize you’ve been staring out the window for an hour, thinking about the world you live in. The two factions, Humans and Chukwudi, used to live in harmony. Ever since the Beta era had ended, the Chukwudi earned themselves the nickname “Testificates”. The reason the Chukwudi acquired this nickname is because of the test chambers they throw the Humans into. The Humans who forced to enter these chambers, the ones that survived at least, remarked on how cruel, tortuos and deadly they had been. The humans that came out alive, scarred, would go paranoid if you brought the Testificates up in any form.

Your wife is right, though. You do have a big day ahead of you. It’s the Annual Knowledge Analysis, where the Testificates take in every male Human in the area and quiz them on various things.  Failing this assessment results in either immediate execution, or being a subject for their upcoming chamber.  It has been rumored around the town that the next test is going to be named “DigBuild”…Or something of that matter, you can’t really remember. After 5 more minutes, you decide its probably time to head to bed. You lay down, close your eyes and fall fast asleep.

You wake up, get out of bed, and get ready for the analysis. Alex is still asleep, because it’s 5:30 AM. The test starts at 6:00. You hop into your car and drive off. You shortly arrive at the KA Lab. The building is surrounded in barbed wires, and gives an eerie impression as your wheels creep across the concrete. You take a deep breath, open the door and step out of the car. As you slam the door behind you, an echo bounces back to your ears. You walk up to the lab and open the heavy doors. A gust of wind blows at the Chukwudi’s noses, causing them to swing with the wind. The room is crowded with chairs, a majority being occupied by people.  Everyone is silent. The Chukwudi guards give you a menacing glance as they point you to a chair. You sit down, and you hear “Quinn Clark.”
The names are called in alphabetical order. You wait for the next name… “Robert McLeod.”
You're up soon. A young man comes and sits next to you, with a worried look on his face.
“What letter are they on?” he says, “I need to know, please.”
Confused, you respond, “R, why?” The worried look is now undeniable, as his face is flushed with pale.
“My names Francis, my car broke down on the way here,” Francis says, “Please sir, you have to help me!”

A Chukwudi guard overhears the conversation, and immediately grabs Francis and drags him away as he screams for help.
You hear, “Samuel Faulkner.” You know you’re up soon, if not next. You take a deep breath, and wait for the following name.
“Steven Baxter.” You stand up and walk towards a confined room in which people have been entering. The door slowly opens, and you step in.
A voice says “Hello, Steven Baxter.”
The room is dark, but you can still see your surroundings. There’s a chair and also a TV, which seems to be turned off.
“Take a seat, Steve.”
You sit down on the chair and the TV flickers on. Metal cuffs open on each of the armrests, and quickly grasp your wrists. You don’t bother to struggle, because you know there’s no point.
“The Knowledge Analysis will now begin.”
The first question pops up, and the voice speaks again.
“Who are the Chukwudi?”
“Big nosed freaks.” You answer confidently.
“Incorrect, you have one more chance,” The voice continues, “who is the Chukwudi’s leader?”
You hesitate, “Nobody?”

The TV switches off. You can feel your heart beating rapidly as the cuffs open up. You sit still.
The voice calls you, “Steven, right this way please.”
The lights flash on and a door opens. You stand up and uneasily shuffle your way to the door. After you enter, the door slams shut immediately. Two Chukwudi scientists grab you and throw you onto a steel bed. Cuffs grab your arms, legs and neck. Now you’re struggling. One scientist rushes to your arm as the other puts a mask on your face. You feel a sharp pain on your left arm, they’ve drugged you.
You start to feel drowsy as one of them says “Have fun!”

You wake up. A voice says “Welcome to Minecraft, Steve.”
You stand up and proceed to punch a tree. It seems natural.

Great story; it has a very unique plot, but I have some constructive criticisms.

Dialogue gets its own paragraph. For example:

You walk into the spacious room as the lights flicker on. You can't seem to see anyone around you, but you have an ominous feeling that someone is watching you.
     "Hello," a mysterious voice says.

Also, make sure you specify who is who.
"The two factions, Humans and Chukwudi, used to live in harmony. Ever since the Beta era was over, they earned themselves the nickname 'Testificates'."

This bit doesn't specify who got the nickname 'Testificate'. I realize that you state it later, but you do not want your readers to be confused at any point (unless you're going for a confusing story, but at you clearly were not in this example).

Anyways, I hope that helped! Good luck in the contest!

Yes, any sentence with dialogue gets its own paragraph. Also, make sure you follow the punctuation rules:

Always preface the dialogue with a comma (unless it is in the beginning of a sentence). Example:

The boy shouted"Hey!"

Use commas, not periods if they are at the beginning or middle of a sentence. Example:

"Hello," said the boy.
-or-
The boy muttered, "Hello," as he walked towards me.

If it is at the end of a sentence, put the punctuation you would usually put at the end inside the quotation marks. Example:

Mickey Mouse was so angry he screamed, "I quit!"
-or-
Johnny said, "I want a cookie."

And, like always, they get their own paragraph!
Hope this helps. If you're a bit confused on how the punctuation works and would like it worded in a different way, check online. There's a lot of useful resources there on grammar.
