Hey PMC, Lola here with a new blog! (I can't draw with my right hand, since I'm a leftie, so don't judge, k?)
I might be a girl, but that doens't mean I can't be a Lego fanatic (eh, well used to be, hehe). Lego Star wars and Lego City were my fave collections. I used to build huge things, i used to mix up all the blocks from all the collections and made my own creations. Dull police office? i can do it better! Mine even has a dragon head attached to it! ^-^ (not even kidding)
Sadly people never understood my Lego fascination, they were like "Oh lego, that silly boi game.". Which was kind of frustrating (and sexist). But when I started playing Minecraft reactions totally shocked me "ERMAGHERED Minecraft, that game has afwul graphics, if u want to pley wit blocks, go get urself sum Lego". That was so rude, if I played with lego they judged me for it, if I played minecraft they judged me for not playing with lego. ERRRM wot lego is something completely different from MC, yk?? *endless debate started*
So now let's get to the comparison.
As everyone knows, Lego has some similarities with MC,I've listed them here:

So now let's get to the comparison.
As everyone knows, Lego has some similarities with MC,I've listed them here:
- You can build (almost) anything you want!
- The most obvious one: the blocks are squared, and that's what annoys me, people stop thinking from this point.
- Both MC and Lego have a wide variety on blocks. (even pink ones ^-^)
- Both games have detailed blocks, like fances, rails and food.
- Weapons: guns, light sabers,...
- Skinning: you can mix and match different avatar's legs, hands, bodies, heads... but in a more limited way than MC skins...
- Capes!!! (Yes there are capes in lego, look at Darth Vader, or those red guards from the Sith)
- And a last similarity: Redstone. Lego has also some kind of redstone, you can make robots out of lego blocks and program them, they're called mindstormers. you can also make windmills, trains and even helicopters! The sky is the limit!!!
- You don't hurt yourself trying to swim yourelf a way trough an ocean of Lego blocks in your room. The only thing you can swim trough is an ocean (and pray you don't get stranded)
- You can actually look trough the eyes of your character. You feel Steve's pain, hunger, fear,...
- The game has a goal. Defeating the Sith and destroying the Death Star or saving the city from a bankrob is one thing, but isn't it much more amusing if you can't control the enemy's actions? The fact the game controls you makes it much more intresting and exiting.
- when you make structures (without mods and with gravity resistant blocks) they won't collapse. How many times did I wrecked a beautiful lego building by accidentally stepping on it or by making it unstable (and how many times did I hurt myself doing that?) in MC you don't have that problem, you can build floating airships without the fear that it'll fall down?
- Money: Minecraft is less expensive than Lego. everytime a new set comes out, you need to pay for it. If you pay for minecraft once (20€) every update that follows will be FREE!!!
- Delete a world. If you want to make a new world in minecraft, just simply click "create new world",with Lego it works different. You need to wreck your creations. there's no "safe" or "keep for later" button, you have a limited amount of blocks, and you need to recycle them. And it doesn't only mentally hurt, scraping all the smaller blocks from each other makes your fingers hurt and it breaks your nails. (which is quite a disaster for a nail fanatic like me)
- TNT!!!! now you might say, but if you use dynamite on Lego it'll blow up too. NOPE. you'll destroy your Lego. you can just pick up the blown up blocks from the ground in MC, but irl it's broken, and it can never be fixed again. Besides, who the hell has dynamite in his/her house and uses it to blow up toys?
What does Lego have that MC hasn't?
- Not everything is cubed, you even have CIRCKLES in the game (whoaaaa!!!), there's much more variety in the chapes of the blocks, I mean, you have long planks, small blocks, large blocks, spheres...
- If you play with Lego (unless you're playing with mindstormers) you won't run out of battery! :3 (and plz don't say you can connect your computer to an outlet because you can't do that everywhere)
That's it for now, whether you like MC more or lego, that's up to you to decide. I hope you just learned out of this blog that MC isn't JUST the digitalised version from Lego.
