[MAC USERS ONLY PLEASE] texture pack help!

I Tried to make a texture pack but it failed miserably! I get the Terrain.png done (about 2 weeks for 30 mins at a day!) and when i went to edit my armour, gimp said do i want to change something or other and i hit yes or whatever and when i went into my pack, BOOM! it didn't recognize my pack! so if someone could help me, i'd like that! thanks!
