Note:The softwares mentioned in this blog may not be right for you, if you do not feel at home using these softwares then ask the minecraft video making community what alternatives there are for recording and editing videos. (I love acting official)

Getting the proper software

The most important part of making minecraft videos, is having the correct software to do so. The essentials are a recording software, an editing software, an internet connection, and of course minecraft. For recording, I would recommend using DXtory, FRAPS, or bandicam FULL VERSION. For editing, I reccomend sony vegas pro 9, 10, or 11

Recording the videos

Now that you have the software you want, you should get to recording the videos. I will explain how to do so using each different software.
DXtory: For this, you must first open up minecraft. From there you should also open up DXtory, in the corner of your minecraft screen you should now see a number and the letters FPS next to it. This stands for frames per second. It is how fast your minecraft is. If minecraft lags your FPS will decrease, if it is fast, then it will increase. Now, go to the the tab with the keyboard on it and set up your sticky keys/hot keys. Right now you really only need to set up the keys you will start and stop your recording with. Now click on the key you set up to start recording with and "voila" You are now recording your first minecraft video! To stop press the key you set up to stop the recording with.

FRAPS: Go to the tab that says movies and click on the video capture hotkey box, then click on they key that you want to start and stop your recordings with. Open up minecraft and you should have a number somewhere on your screen, this is your FPS, or frames per second. Now click on they key you set up to start your recording with and BAM you are now recording. To stop, click the same key.

Bandicam: Click on target and select DirectX/OpenGLwindow. Then open up your minecraft. Somewhere on your screen you should have a number, this is your FPS, or frames per second. There are two boxes below the word "Hotkey" check both of them. Then click on the boxes next to them. The top one will be the one you start and stop your recordings with, and the bottom one is the one you pause recording with. (I would also recommend checking the no cursor box just because it looks ugly to the viewers of the recording,) Now, click the button you chose to start the recording with and BOOM you are now recording. To stop push the same key again. To pause push the key you selected to pause with.

Editing
Go to your video editing software, and select file. Then click on import and bring in all of the files that you want you edit together. Now drag your videos to the editing tray at the bottom in the desired order. Once you have finished this, there should be a button that says render as. DO NOT SAVE IT, IT WILL SAVE IT AS AN UNFINISHED PROJECT NOT A VIDEO. Now select the video type that you want and you're done!

Uploading to youtube
I think most people know how to do this, nevertheless I will add it in. Go to Youtube.com and create an account if you haven't already. Now go to video manager, in the top right corner there should be a button that says upload, click it and select the video you want to upload, then add a title, description and tags. If it is a series then make sure to add what season and episode it is along with links to the previous episode in the description.
