Hello everyone this is something I have found long ago that ticks me off to this day and they are called
Overdone mods!!!!!!!!!!!
What makes a mod overdone you may ask well it's simply if it has been done by so many different modders they take up a portion of a forum (Like the minecraft forums).
Examples of these mods are
Obsidian/Redstone tools:Usually they are as well drawn as something from a rage comic or simply a recolor,
usually have incomplete tool sets and these mods happen to be everywhere
One ore to rule them all mods:These mods add an ore that is usually, Insanely easy to get, Much better than diamond and usually has incomplete tool sets (But not as often as Obsidian/Redstone tool mods) these usually happen to be everywhere as well
Omni tool mods:These have to be the best of a bad lot since they usually are difficult to make and end up wearing faster than most tools but it takes out the challenge of watching your tools carefully and making sure you always have the right tool for the job these mods happen to be common but not as bad as the above mods.
Nerf mods:No not the darts and dart guns (It would be pretty awesome if they were though) these mods take the challenge out of the game by doing things like making creepers no longer explode and or every mob has half as much health these are very common
Useless mob mods:They add mobs that usually drop nothing or something super rare and the mobs usually either just walk (Or slide if the modder was lazy) or just sit there these mods aren't the most common but they are definitely out there.
Insane mods:These mods usually make craploads of mobs spawn and kill you and they usually spawn no matter the difficulty these mods are also pretty common.
Make everything super easy mods:Like dirt to diamonds or sand to gold they make everything no longer fun these mods happen to be common everywhere.
Minor edit mods:These are really bad it's where a modder takes another mod alters it slightly and claims it as their own these are rare but are really annoying if you are trying to mod.
In no way is a beginner making a simple mod is bad but originality should be thought of first.

Now for the types of mods that should be done more often!
Full add on mods:Mods that add things like ores, tools, armor, vehicles, mobs and sometimes a whole new realm!
these mods need to be more common big time!
Weapon mods:Mods that add weapons with things like push back ability, throwing weapons, ranged weapons etc.
These are another rare gem in the world of mods
Good dragon mods:Everyone loves dragons admit it we need more dragon mods that actually work!

In most cases people who makes those simple mods are beginner of java-coding. The types of mods you require (new realm, vehicles, mobs etc), take lots of time and effort, and also you have to be very experienced in java. They would requires hours/weeks/month of dedication, donations and someone to find the bugs, and it probably should be compatible with other mods as well.
What's wrong with obsidian/redstone tool set? At least there are many of them, so you surely find one that works. Same to other "simple" plugins. They are easy for beginners, and they always are a bit different, so there is not only one obsidian tool mod, that does not work or updates slowly.
And complaining how some mods take the fun of the game (nerf creepers etc.) I do that on my server all the time, but nobody seems to complain of that? If you want to play easy single player, use that nerf-mod to disable creeper explosion. And if you want to have some fun, download this dirt-to-diamond mod and have something you did not have before.
I agree with that stealing code is wrong, that's the only part I agree.
If you do not like the mod, just don't install it. At least you got lots to decide from.
What have you coded by the way?
Obsidian and redstone tool sets:They are done too often people know they are everywhere yet they make them instead of a sandstone or glass tool set! also they are copied as often as quotes from famous movies
Have you thought that people don't complain about Nerf mods on the server because your the owner and complaining to an owner is an easy way to get a ban or warning
You left out one ore to rule them all mods and insane mods is that because you agree with me on those or is that because you some how consider them a part of nerf mods because they aren't
Also diamonds really aren't that hard to get in the first place if you mine fully prepared making the dirt to diamond mods useless
I have made a mod before but I do have other things to do such as a job so I can't really update it often.
Last but not least the final line of the overdone mod section says that beginners making simple mods is fine but originality should be thought of.
If you are going to add to this post i have a suggestions.
Easy-Mods: Mods that you can craft diamonds and gold and stuff by placing dirt and sand and cobble into crafting. these are annoying as people think they're great and all but they take like 2 seconds to code.
