Hello everyone I know I'm not a professional roleplayer but I can say I am better than some of them and please do not say you left some of the things out and this is a horrible piece of crap
Roleplaying: roleplaying is difficult especially if it's popular but if you remember these simple rules you shouldn't face to much trouble
rule1 no godmodding/controlling unless you have permission or it'snecessary: it's pretty simple just don't postthis person kills that person or this person decapitates this person unless of course you have permission or the roleplayer is violating to many rules (example dodging every attack thrown at them) but otherwise you just shouldn't do it
rule2 no storyline derailing!:Pretty much meaning don't change the storyline of the thread to your own (example making avillain that overpowers the storyline's villain and takes their place as the main threat)if you really want your own storyline make your own thread for that!
rule3 be original!:This is the most commonly ignored rule people make teenage orphans with incredible powers or cranky wizards or pompous paladins or nice and quiet female healer types and it should stop! The characters are usually end up pretty much copied and pasted everywhere! make something original like a cranky old healer man that tells you off if you get injured and purposefully tries to interrupt romantic subplots !
rule4 when in doubt ask!:Don't know if this or that is allowed ask the fellow roleplayers will help you out!(example asking whether you are allowed to roleplay as a dragon in a roleplay thread)
rule5 no constant battling!:This is rare but one of the worst things to happen to a roleplay there is someone who would rather try to kill off characters over and over instead of try todevelop their characters and show real emotion if you want just action just play a stupid killing game god dammit!
rule6 no mary/gary sues or baron von doomkills: Simply no perfect stereotypical characters with ultimate power mary/gary sues are often good characters with overdone backstories (such as orphan who happens to be last of an ancient race or a farmboy who wants to be a hero)with amazing powers while Baron Von doomkills are the stereotypical overpowered bad guys with no reason (unlike one that's wronged by society or one on a mad quest to bring back their deceased beloved) Baron Von Doomkills can be well done though but it must be worked or really hard to make them good.
rule7 try to roleplay the best you can!:this rule is probably the most important to me it simply means if you are good at grammar and spelling try your best think you can make a paragraph make a paragraph if you think you can do only one liners do so (personally can do both but I prefer doing simple sentences)

Thread Management:Making your own threads is difficult but here's some tips to help manage them
Tip 1 it's better with friends:Get a few friends to help out with managing the thread (doing things like accepting apps and bumping whennecessary)
Tip 2 the more the merrier:Allow roleplayers to apply for as many characters as they can manage it's worked for me so it can work for you!
Tip 3 be open!:Allow as many things as you think should be allowed(example someone wants to roleplay as a dragon let them if it fits the theme)
Tip 4 don't be afraid to close things off!:stop accepting apps if there's too many of that type of character(Example 80% of the characters are assassins so tell your acceptors to stop accepting them!)
Tip 5 be careful who you get acceptor status to:This has happened to me before and has lead to various roleplayers quitting my roleplays sometimes a corrupt acceptor accepts their own apps or threatens to kick roleplayers out if they don't follow their whims usually taking the status from the corrupt acceptor works and sometimes the acceptor should get reported.
Tip 6 how to handle Troll apps:Simply decline them, Laugh at them , Ignore them

Understand your alignments!
people often don't use alignments properly such as make a chaotic evil villain when they are really lawful evil and so on so here's a little guide
Chaotic means they are aware of there alignment and does things for themselves an example of Chaotic Evil is Kefka from the final fantasy games and a good example of Chaotic good is Zidane from the final fantasy games
Lawful means they are unaware of their alignment and has some sort of big reason for things a good example of Lawful Evil is Garland from the final fantasy games a good example of Lawful good is well Eragon from the Inheritance cycle
Neutral simply means they are between good and evil a good example of that is well real life.
also just because someone is of a certain alignment doesn't mean they are on the respective side a good example of that is Viral from Gurren Lagann he seems quite evil but when you see the heroes fight other foes you see he is incredibly honorable compared to the other beastman generals at some point (in season 2 to be exact) he joins the same side as the heroes
