It was midnight where we were. I lived in a sturdy stronghold by the coast, as my home was slowly being touched by the rolling waves and calmed by the soft, gentle breeze. I was fishing off the edge of the rickety port which me and my wife had hastily installed into the beach, on a night of starvation and famine. Ilia was asleep. She always fell asleep early... I believe that the beautiful sunset lulled her into a doze, and then drowned her in dreams and, sometimes, nightmares. It was like this every night. I always entertained myself by fishing, gardening or mining minute amounts of coal, if I was lucky enough to find some. Our life was incredibly peaceful. Being me, I was almost asleep on the pier, until I realized how dark it had become. I was always a sleepy old fellow- I shan't deny that! Once I had fully stirred and was fully aware of my situation, I had to attempt at sprinting to the house in order to avoid the threats of midnight. I was pretty much opening the door when I was suddenly met with a forceful 'clang' on the door in front of me. My stomach tightened with horror. A sword.

My eyes flickered with fright, as I scrabbled for the door handle, while frantically calling my wife's name. 'Ilia! Ilia! Wake up! Ilia!', but she did not wake. I shrunk down to the ground, ready to receive a smash from the sword... But I was not met with one. In fact, I looked up to see a pair of blue (not white!) eyes staring back at me. I whimpered 'Please... Do not hurt me.' And the creature replied, in fluent English, 'I shall not hurt you.' My heart leaped. 'So you aren't... Him?'
'No, I am not him.'
'Thank Notch...'
I stood up, dusting my clothes off. 'I am so sorry... I thought you were... He-'
'Herobrine.'
'Yes...'

It was dawn. By this time, Ilia was fully awake, and I had welcomed the stranger into our stronghold. Ilia told him in a feminine, soft tone, 'It's not exactly what you'd call home, but we are very happy here. The waves and sky look so gorgeous together.'. I nodded.
'It isn't home, but it's definitely shelter, and that's probably the main thing. Apart from food, of course. Starvation has always been a big problem.'
The stranger decided to introduce himself. He revealed that his name was Steve, and he had traveled far and wide in search of company in this lonely world. He agreed to help us create a better shelter, and also to help us gain more food. But he just needed somewhere to stay himself, and that he had never had a true home. He wished for caring friends or family to look out for him on the cold, lonely nights, for a change.
At that point, we felt sympathetic, so we allowed young Steve to make himself at home in our shelter. 'What harm could he do?' I had thought. I was definitely in for an answer!
