Minecraft 1.8 has been officially released! Among the new features are:
<br/>
Biomes are larger, more uniform and cooler!

<br>

The Swamp Biome has been added!

<br/>

Vines are now included, and can be collected with shears!

<br/>

Beef, Lamb and Chicken now are added, and they replenish the players new Food Bar!

<br/>

A full Food Bar regenerates life!

<br/>

NPC villages have been added, with NPCs to come!

<br/>

Strongholds or Ruins have been added, with deep and twisting tunnels!

<br/>

Abandoned Mineshafts are now found, often similar to a labyrinth!

<br/>

Giant Mushrooms, often near NPC villages.

<br/>

Silverfish!

<br/>

Endermen! These mobs are passive until you look at them! once looked at they attack, throwing blocks at you, and teleporting to your position!

<br/>

Ravines! Ravines now appear, so watch your step!

<br/>

Charged bows shoot further, and have cool particle effects!

<br/>

Sprinting! Your player can now sprint for an extra boost of speed!

<br/>

Creative mode! Infinite items, instant block removal, and players can fly by default!

<br/>

Chests now have an open and close animation!

<br/>

Servers browser, and player listing!

<br/>

XP bar! Earn experience points!

<br/>

Eating animations!

<br/>

Your arrows stick in mobs!

<br/>

New lights! The new lighting engine provides colored lights and smoother lighting!

<br/>

CLouds are now at the top of the world!

<br/>

CaveSPiders! Zombies drop Rotten Flesh!

<br/>

Watermelons! Watermelon and Pumpkin Seeds!

<br/>

Rivers! Deeper oceans!

<br/>

Glass Panes!

<br/>

Iron bars, spikes!

<br/>

Brick and stone bricks, with stairs!
