Minecraft, an RPG!?
an idea and a suggestion from Adam (Magmuh)

Hey guys, so what's up and how's it going? I just wanted to give you guys an idea of what Mojang and Microsoft could potentially do with Minecraft at this point. So I personally believe that Minecraft and it's updates have been pretty dry, as they address certain aspects of Minecraft, but none that interest me (Combat). What I believe Mojang and Microsoft should do at this point with Minecraft is change the leveling system and add skills/attributes into the game of Minecraft. If you want a better idea of what I'm thinking of, the Level Up Mod and the gokiStats Mod are nearly perfect examples of what I want Minecraft to permanently have.

Introduce the ability to level up certain skills and abilities by leveling up. As I said before, I also think they should change the entire leveling system itself. Make it so, you would level up and you won't ever lose your level for that world. With that, they would also need to change the way people would enchant. For this I could recommend a lot of things, but the biggest idea that comes to mind is add a system like Rust. Where you would have chests that randomly spawn around your world where you can find enchanting books and other items. From there you would be able to attach the enchantment on your tool or weapon or even armor, and it would still give you a value of how much XP you need to attach this enchantment to your item. It wouldn't deplete your XP level whatsoever. Better enchantments require higher levels of XP to acquire.

Changing this entire system would be very drastic and radical, and I get that. I just want to stir things up and see what the rest of the Planet Minecraft community has to input in this topic. You could even change things so much so, that you could add races/classes into Minecraft where your health/speed/strength/jump and things like that can be altered based on what class or race you select.

Classes

CLASSES - Archer (Increased Dexterity, Less inventory space, Increased Agility, 8 Hearts of Health, 1.2x Speed, Normal Damage)

Thief (Increased agility, move silently, 1.5x Speed, 18 total slots of inventory, 5 hearts of health, 3x melee damage, 0.5x ranged damage, Increased charisma)

Brute (Increased Strength, More inventory space, Decreased agility, 15 hearts of health, 0.8x speed, 1.5x damage all around)

More could be added here, but for now I'll leave the rest open for discussion and other people's suggestions.

SkillsStrength (Determines how much damage you deal, and how much you can take)
Endurance (Determines how long you can sprint and swim before drowning or becoming exhausted)
Dexterity (Determines how long it takes before your special attack [Swords and Axes] reloads)
Agility (Determines how easily it is to maneuver around things and climb things)
Charisma (Determines how good your trades are with villagers may be)
MORE TO BE SUGGESTED!!

So there is so much more in this blog that needs to be added but for now I shall leave this blog where it is at, and hopefully people will suggest ideas as they please :D

Well, honestly, mojang will never do this, no will they even consider it, we have other games and mods for that, they created minecraft to be creative, not to level up and defeat bosses, if that had been the goal they would have added it already. If you have to use these comparisons, minecraft = legos, so much more family friendly makes it so everyone can play it, low pc usage, and easy to understand, and D&D = skyrim well this is much more complex and harder to understand, its violent, and requires more thinking. I have seen so many of these blogs in the last few years, and all have said that they need to be more like elder scrolls in some way, minecraft is the game where you build, not stats , charecter and skill, but creativity, creative thinking, for building, fighting, and more. Sorry if I sounded irritated or mad with this comment I just get serious when I explain things, so sorry hun.

Alright. I can see where you come from. I am just merely suggesting what I would ike to see added into Minecraft. But I understand where your coming from and I'm glad you left the comment.

really i believe that minecraft is bigger then skyrim and if you had some extra 6 k monitor mods it might begin to look like skyrim

Yes. I'm sure you could easily turn Minecraft into a similar game to Skyrim. That's not at all what I think would be good. I'm only suggesting that Minecraft introduce skills at a minimum to allow players with more XP and aging within a server to have a little bit of an edge on players who just have hopped onto a server for the first time. Add more depth and aspect into Minecraft.

Yeah actually, except, in my eyes anyway, I don't think Minecraft should go as radical as making their skills and such as expansive and big as Skyrim's.
