Minecraft and Shields

We all know Minecraft 1.6 has came out recently and I've thought an idea for future updates. Shield, 7 diamonds, gold ingots, iron ingots, or cobblestone blocks. Gold is the most defensive, but wares out the fastest. Diamond is the longest and 90% of the protection gold has. Iron is half of diamond's protection, meaning it's 45% of gold. Cobble has two-thirds of iron, which is 30% of gold. The armor suit's last item could be the shield. Also it gives you a chance to hold 2 items at once, or with several options on, you can hold a shield and a sword right after you make a shield. They'res a shield mod, like the horses, which were mod-exclusive, are going to be in the official game modless.
