I haven't posted on this account for about a year now due to.. well various reasons.
The only reason I am using it now is because I am starting up a new series on my channel known as Minecraft Desteria Factions ~ GLORA. I have had my youtube channel for over a year now and it has also been about over a year since I stopped playing factions. The reason i started back up again was purely because i slightly missed the concept despite all of the rage and annoyance I went through back then..
But now with a new series set on the Desteria server, I thought I would give a small guide for those people who want to join my faction on this server just so people don't get confused with the commands and everything.
So, let's get started
P.S: I will be updating this blog every so often for you, so this is not all!
A quick introduction:
So this is for those of you who have never been on a factions server ever and want to kind of get the concept.
Minecraft Factions is a particular gamemode type using the plugin Factions, aswell as other plugins to support the server. The game rules are pretty simple. You can create or join a faction and try not to get raided while raiding other people.
If you don't know what the word 'faction' means, here is the definition from Google:
'A small organised dissenting group within a larger one, especially in politics.'
So the servers that classify as pvp minecraft faction servers are designed for people who enjoy pvp. If you get mad at being beaten easily and losing stuff or you are not a huge fan of pvp, these types of servers may not be for you. But hey, there are some non pvp non raid faction servers out there.
Back when I played factions a lot, I was part of a particularly large and strong faction. I had joined them as the owner trusted me (i guess) and I was welcomed pretty well.
However, not all factions are like this and some will either get you to join then they will kick you out and kill you and take your stuff or you could make your own faction and invite someone who would then leave and then raid you.
So as you have already realised, it's actually pretty hard to get a good faction going without the huge risk of a member betraying you.
That's what I am here for!
I shall hopefully help you in this blog to no longer be a noob at this gamemode and be able to become a pro!
I shall update this blog every day (hopefully) adding more tips for you.
So, let's get started!
Beginner Commands:
/f create
This is the command you would use to create a faction!
/f claim
This will claim a small area around you for your faction. However, there is a certain limit to how much you can claim. You will need more power to increase this limit.
/f sethome
This will set your faction home. The members of your faction can use...
/f home
..to teleport to this destination. You should set it in your base probably. Please note you can only set your faction home in your claimed territory.
/f desc
This will change the message people get when they enter your claimed territory. Make it something short and catchy!
/f join <faction name>
If you are not into making your own faction, you can always try taking the risk of joining a current one by using this command.
/f invite <playername>
If you are the owner of the faction and you would like to invite someone to the faction, use this command
/f map
This will tell you if any factions are near using this map! You can also use...
/f map on
..to keep the faction map being displayed for a longer time.
Do..
/f map off
to switch it off!
/f promote
This will promote a member of your faction. More info on this will come later..
