UPDATE Thanks guys for getting this on the pop reel!
Not only that but thanks for giving it a diamond and showing this to people who have the wrong image of minecraft
My only goal for this was for people to see it and agree and prove that this is a really fun and educational game
Anyway read below to see what I mean.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Hey guys jman0111 here and today I am going to show you that minecraft is educational.
Now most parents/teachers think that this is another game about killing and is not educational
That is wrong
So I will be giving a few examples about how minecraft is educational
Minecraft helps players learn to read and write.
Players will have to read items as they scroll over them. This allows younger players to enhance their reading skills in a fun way. Another way they read is in servers. Constantly reading the chat messages also helps boost the players vocabulary. If you don't want your child to be exposed to the chat (which usually is not filtered unless said by the owner) you can simply turn it off in the options. Writing is also included in the chat when the player wants to write a message. This can also help a young player.
Minecraft involves planning and thinking skills
This is a major problem for kids: not being able to make a plan and use their critical thinking skills. In minecraft, whether its a pvp tactic or survival, you have to have a plan and succeed in doing it. This can lead to players using these skills in real world situations.
Minecraft can teach math in game in a fun way
If you think about it, players use math all the time in minecraft. Whether its splitting a stack of wood or figuring out how much material they need for crafting, it all is based on math. Minecraft involves players counting, adding, and dividing in-game.
Minecraft incorporates geometry
Blocks and squares aren't the only shape in minecraft. When in creative, players have hundreds of different blocks and have unlimited possibilities of shapes and patterns they can make all at their fingertips.
Minecraft helps with social skills
In a multiplayer server, you are placed in a world with hundreds of other people and can work together to accomplish a common task. It can help the player be friendly in the chat or even in a Skype call.
Minecraft teaches computer and basic engineering skills
How? Well if you think, redstone is a simple version of what computer engineers do. With redstone players can create an endless number of contraptions like tripwire traps and pressure plate activated vaults. Redstone can help players get a head start if they want to become engineers.
Minecraft is stress-free
Most kids complain that games are too stressful or require a certain amount of skill. With minecraft its all stress free. Options include putting your game on peaceful which prevents from monsters spawning in-game. And with minecraft, there is no skill or patience requirement.
Minecraft teaches about computers and programming
If you want to create a mod or even install one, you have to know some knowledge about computers and programming. Kids that plan to become a programmer will love to get a head start on what they might do in the future.
Minecraft is all up to you
There is no rules. Players have an endless (yes endless) world with unlimited possibilities. And if you don't want people altering or destroying your creations in multiplayer, you can always switch to single player where no one is there in the world but you. If you would like your own texture pack or mod, you can make on or use one and customize your game any way you want.
Minecraft in general is all around fun
Its not all serious here. Do whatever. Jump a cliff. Make a water slide. Over 16,000,000 people have registered and players from all around the world enjoy this game. Some players quit playing games due to boredom or they have completed the game. You can't technically beat the game in minecraft. As far as boredom, the developers of minecraft release updates frequently that adds new features. With that being said, players always have something new to discover.
Minecraft is not only for the computer
Thats right this game is available on IOS, Android, XBOX 360, PS3, and soon to be out on more devices. Not all people like keyboard games so you can play on many other consoles or devices.
Minecraft has no violence
Most parents worry about their kids playing violent games. Minecraft has no bad language (actually no one talks). Some servers have un-filtered chats but there is a no-chat option for younger players. Now in survival and pvp you have to kill other people and monsters. But there is no guns. Just bows sword and whatever the player can make. And when the player or mob dies, it simply turns red, falls over, disappears and white smoke is in the air.

Have something to say?
Does swearing and telling people off count as violence? I see a lot of that.
And I don't think it counts as violence, just verbal abuse. Good point though.
