Minecraft is a survival game, isn't it?
What tool do you think of when you think of a person exploring a vast jungle or a tropical island?
Do explorers run around with a shovel?
Or an axe?
OR A MACHETE!
Machetes are great for several things:
If a machete were to be put into minecraft, it could be used for all of these things!
Have you ever wanted to clear out an area of that terribly annoying tall grass so you could build there?
With a machete, you can clear out entire fields of tall grass in less than half the time it would normally take!
There are three types of machete
The wooden machete would clear out tall grass, flowers, crops, vines, or any other plant within a radius of two blocks.
An iron machete would clear a radius of three blocks.
And a diamond machete would clear a radius of five blocks!
Never again will you have to break each tall grass individually!
If your in the plains and need to build a house, you can!
There will be no tall grass in the way after you use your machete!
If you don't mind the tall grass, there are still uses for the machete to help you in almost any situation!
Do you have a zombie infestation?
If you have a machete, DON'T WORRY!
A machete will do as much damage to a zombie as it's sword counterpart!
However, when used against any other enemy mob, it will add only one half heart of damage, and it will be damaged easily in combat, so use your machete wisely!
If zombie slaying isn't what you prefer to use your machete for, it can always be useful for a butcher!
The machete will do no extra damage to animals.
However, if an animal is killed with a machete, there will be a 25% chance that the meat it drops will be cooked!

Even if you don't want the machete for any of these previous uses, it may still be useful to you!
You probably want to cut down trees, right?
If you do, the machete might be helpful to you!
When cutting down any normal tree, like oak, spruce or birch, the machete is half as fast as it's axe counterpart.
When used on jungle wood, however, it is 10% faster than it's axe counterpart!
The machete is great for anyone who live in a jungle!
Maybe you're still not convinced that a machete is for you.
Maybe you live on a tropical island or near a beach and you want to collect sand for whatever reason.
Just take your machete and you can dig up the sand just 25% more slowly than if you had a shovel of the same material!
The machete will not be of any use if you try to dig other blocks like dirt or stone, however, only sand.
Each type of machete can also cut leaves as well as shears can!
Now that you have a machete, you can find those apples faster!
Not only that, but you can cut through cobwebs with ease just as if you had a sword!
If you're a pvp fan, you'll be glad to know that the machete is 75% and strong as it's sword counterpart when used against other players!
It's a tool and a weapon that can be used to fit everyone's survival needs!

Machetes are essential survival tools! I think they need to be in Minecraft.
