Hi, I recently found out about this Minedeas thing. So with the upcoming Redstone Update in mind:
Here is my entry: Redstone XP Block
1. The Redstone XP Block is able to power redstone when the player in a given area and has a given level of XP.
eg.: You set the radius of the block to 10, and the level it reacts on to 15, now when a player with level 15 is in a radius of 10 away from the block, it powers the redstone connected to the block.
2. This block could be used in adventure maps or CTM Maps, or for secret doors.
- If the Mapmaker wants the player to keep fighting before he/she/it can move on, the mapmaker can put in one of these blocks to keep the player busy. This makes gameplay more structural and fun!
- For secret doors, for example, if you want to be able to get into your base easily, but nobody else is allowed to, you can hide the door (completely, because of the radius thing) and set the level really high, then all you have to do is get to your XP Farm and make sure you don't die!
3. Part of the idea is that in Generated chests bottle o' enchanting can be found, then this would be the recipe:
(from left to right, high to low) air, redstone, air, bottle o' enchanting, possible new BUD-Switch block/Piston, bottle o' enchanting, redstone, button, redstone
So in the end, I think my Redstone Block would improve the game because:
- Better base-hiding in Multiplayer
- More engineering to be done in your world (always fun =D)
- Mapmaking tool, amazing way of keeping the player busy
- ...
Also, I think this is a quite balanced idea, but you can also modify the block properties in-game to make is as unbalanced or balanced as you want!
I hope the people from the Minedeas Contest at least enjoyed reading this idea, and will find it original at least! Thanks for reading!!
