For a few years now I have been playing minecraft, but never succeeded greatly in finding gold, iron and diamonds, until recently. I have come up with a theory that will change the way you play minecraft. If you spawn in a world that has an 'open' quarry, it is more likely that you will find less iron, but more coal. If you dig on the 12th to the bottom layer, you will find 70% more diamonds than any other layer. If you loose all your stuff underground, it is a 15% chance of finding it all again. You will see 4 minutes of diamonds in your average minecraft life.
I will post more suspicions as the days go by, but until then, see ya.

Have something to say?
Diamonds - 12th layer
Gold - 18th Layer
Lapis - 13th Layer
Iron - Any where
Coal - Just underneath the ground...
