Everyone makes a mistake once in a while, it might be tripping over your dog to losing millions in a failed business deal. No matter what it is, everyone makes mistakes. I won't lie that it is a little cliche, but it is what it is and that's the one thing you always have to member if you do something you didn't exactly hope for. But what the best thing you can do from making mistakes in learning from them. Here's a quote from George Bernard Shaw:
"Success does not consist in never making mistakes but in
never making the same one a second time."
Mistakes are common, but the one way that you can actually use them to your advantage is letting them go and learning from them. Let's say you failed a test of some sort. Instead of sulking about it, find out what you did wrong so you can learn from it and keep moving forward. Crying or feeling bad for yourself won't make your smarter in anyway or improve your test score. Finding what you did wrong and improving on it is just as good as not making a mistake at all.
To sum it all out, learning from mistakes is a very valuable skill to have. The key is to put your mistake behind you and learn from what you did wrong. It will make you a better person in all sorts of ways. Think about it this way a mistake isn't a failure, but a mistake is an opportunity for a retake.
