August-January:
Background:At the end of August (maybe around the 24th 2019?) we were asked to join the 8th Graders (yes we were 7th graders) to join them, going up to The Ozarks and playing a few pieces with them13 Clarinets (one being me), 2 Flutes, and 2 Percussionists were asked to join the 8th graders.We Played 5 pieces, and had to practice from September-January...yesNot much happened, other than StressSomeone broke their arm right after we started practicing our first pieceWe almost couldn't go because of snow and sleet after about 5 months of practice, we went anyway
On the way there:
Background:We had to wake up at 4:30 am, just to get to school with our Sheet Music, Instrument, and OutfitWe got there at 5-6am, and left at 6:30The busses were lateWe sat on the busses for 20 minutes before they leftSomeone brought a Switch, but it wasn't charged
Story 1:We left around 7:00, I decided to sit with a friend close to the front. We were both 7th graders, nervous as heck. So we decided to kinda just sit and talk for most of the ride. About an hour in we stopped at Burger King for Lunch. I decided to order myself a breakfast burger, some tater tots, and a soda...MISTAKE. I sat down and ate kinda quickly, halfway through I almost threw up on the table. I decided to not eat the rest and slowly sip the drink.
Story 2:I ate half an oatmeal cream-pie, gave the other half to my friend.
When we got there:
Background:Boys could just put on suits over shorts and a t-shirt on the busThe girls had to go in and change in the bathroomsTONS of people where thereAn entire band (of like 80 kids or something) had to fit instruments, themselves, and sheet music all in this small little area we hadWe waited to start for 2-3 hours
Story:We got out our instruments and somebody started counting and had to wait for someone to pretend to cough so they could stop counting. The person never coughed, this person ended up counting to about 100,000 before the person pretended coughing.
Playing:
We played for about 20 minutes, it was so stressful. Nothing Bad Happened.
After:
Background:EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE was so freaking relievedWe got to leave around 4-5:30pmI was tired
Story 1:On the way back about 20-30 minutes on the way home, we stopped for "lunch" at 6:00, we had a choice of either Arby's or Culver's. One band teacher chose Arby's and the rest of us were at Culver's. I sat in a booth with:The person who sat in front of mePerson next to mePerson behind meWe all had our phones out and ate our food, at some point somebody suggested calling someone from school. We did. They answered, hung up almost immediately, then blocked the person's contact. We then ate our food and talked about how nervous we were.
Story 2:On the ride home I decided to take a few quizzes on my phone. I don't remember the specifics, but I remember that afterwards I was disturbed for some reason and tried to take a nap. I woke up 10 minutes later, refreshed. I heard a guy do an acapella. Nothing else happened afterwards.We got home at 7:30-8:00 and I had to do Math Homework.

Some Honorable Mentions:- The flavor of the day was some sort of chocolate- Somebody hit the wrong note on their instrument during a quiet part of a song- I got a migraine- The person in front of me had NOTHING to entertain themselves with- I called a person at the back of the bus and we had a 15 minute conversation- During a learning part we got a bit of an inside joke. I walked into the band room (the brass one) and saw a Keyboard. I immediately said not joking "It's a Guitar" and EVERY clarinet player in the room knows the inside joke.- I figured out how to take a shirt off while wearing a hoodie the entire time
