Mobs: They are most plentiful in the minecraft world, for example:
Pigs: They drop pork. You can ride them with saddles and they are FREAKIN' ADORABLE!
Cows. They drop leather and meat.
Chickens: They drop Feathers, Raw Chicken (not good for your digestion) and Eggs.
Wolfs: If you attack them they get mad. They drop nothing. Feed them bones to tame.
Ocelots: They drop nothing: Give them Fish to tame.
Sheep: They only drop wool.
Villager: Wears a robe and drops nothing. Trades items for emeralds. or other way around.
Now onto the HOSTILE MOBS.
Zombies: Weak; Can spawn with shovels and Gold, Silver, or leather armor. Very hard to deal with in hordes. They drop Rotten Flesh and Zombie Heads.
Skeletons: Shoot arrows, and when killed can drop bow, arrow, Skeleton Skull, or bones. They can spawn with all armors that zombies spawn with.
Spider Jockeys: Skeletons riding Spiders.
Spiders: Drop string: They are fast and pounce on you.
Cave spiders: Blue Spiders that inflict poison.
Slime: When killed breaks into smaller slimes. Smallest slimes drop Slime Balls.
Creepers: Sneaks up behind you and blows itself up. Drops Creeper Skulls and Gunpowder.
Witch: Throws potions and drops potions.
There are also NETHER MOBS.
Zombie Pigman: Are neutral until attacked. When attacked, all Zombie Pigmen within 35 blocks attack you. They carry gold swords and drop gold nuggets, rotten flesh, and gold swords when killed.
Blazes: Neutral. Shoot Fireballs that light you on fire, Drops Blaze Powder when killed.
Magma Cubes: Just like slimes, but drop magma cream on death.
Wither Skeletons: Carries a stone sword and is 2.5 blocks tall. They are black skeletons and drop wither skulls on drop.
The END MOBS are:
Endermen: Picks up blocks; Neutral unless you look them in the eyes. They wont attack you if you wear a pumpkin.
Ender Dragon: A giant dragon that attacks you by swooping down and biting you. It has many hearts and draws energy from ender crystals atop ender crystal towers. It can break every block except obsidian.
There are also CRAFTABLE MOBS.
Wither: Has three heads and shoots wither skulls that blow stuff up.
