Recentley one of my favorite mods updated after the mod author was silent for a while.  It got me thinking about how crummy and stressful it must be to be a mod author.  When a mod author makes a popular mod there is joy, people downloading and enjoying the mod.  However update happy mojang comes in and kills the code (not what im foucusing on. It is mojang choice to do what they want with minecraft)  My focus is that people should not beg a mod author to update or to add anything.  Heres a list of rules you should follow to give respect to mod autors

POSTING/COMENTING ON A MOD

Suggeting or commenting on a mod is good and it can help, BUT THAT ONLY IS GOOD IF YOU READ THE ENTIRE DANG MOD DESCRIPTION!!!  If you dont read the description you dont post PERIOD END OF STORY!!!

WHAT A MOD AUTHOR SAYS ABOUT HIS MOD GOES

If an author decides his mod is done updating then it's done updating.  If an author says "im not gonna add this" it's not getting added.  Also DO NOT BEG TO UPDATE ESPECIALLY IF YOU DIDNT READ THE MOD DESCRIPTION!!!

DONT ASK FOR BACKWARDS UPDATES

I hate to see people ask for an version of the mod for a previous MC version that that mod was never realesed on.  For example a mod makes it dayveiw in version 1.6.4.  DONT ASK FOR A 1.5.2 VERSION!!!  It's rediculas.

BUG REPORTING

When you crash POST A CRASH LOG.  Heck it wouldnt hurt to give a DETAILED description about what happened in your own words.  If it's a bug take a screenshot and submit it to the author.  Asking for special compatability is okay as long as the author agrees.  But if it's somthing that is not going to happen becuase of code limitations leave it alone.

BE RESONABLE

Not much to say here but just, think about your idea before submiting dose it sound even possible.

LIFE IS A THING?
yea life IS a thing mod authors have lives outside of their modding hobby.  They have family freinds, heck some author might just want to enhoy minecraft istself.

FINALLY THINK ABOUT WHAT THE MOD IS THEN SUGGEST

Think about what the mod is. is it lore freindley? would it fit in the mod? would it benefit the mod? is it already being planned?

Im gonna close saying mod making is for leisure time.  Not respecting the author by not doing what I have said can be quite stressful espicialy when demanding.  It's his mod and he can do what he wants.

That's true, good blog. I hate that people ask for older versions, I mean why would you recode your mod from 1.7 to 1.5 for only one single person?
