Hello all, Happy here! Have you ever been scrolling though the PMC blog section? Of course you have! Have you ever seen a blog that seems like it might be cool? Well let's say you have. You click the blog in the toturial section, the blog is about how to build a simple house. When your computer enters the page, you see that there is only one paragraph written in the space that shows writing. There are no pictures, nothing interesting. You are extremely confused but then you see it. In the thumbnail bar, a video. In this blog I will be sharing MY opinion on these types of blogs. Let's get started shall we?
What am I talking about? I am sure everyone has seen one or two of these types of blogs but for those who have not, what I am talking about is a type of blog that instead of having a picture for their thumbnail, like the one of the video camera you see above, they have a YouTube video instead. They are usually badly edited, poorly scripted, horrible quality videos. Some of them are quite good and I applaud the creators, they walk you throught the steps to make the thing they are showcasing and give the most detail possible on the subject to aid the viewer as much as possible. The blogs usually have a paragraph or two written out telling people to subscribe or to comment what to do next but other than that, no information is given. These blogs get on my nerves so much, but I'll let the next paragraph explain that.
Why they get on my nerves. These blogs annoy me so much that I want to tear out my hair. They are an abomination to the blogging community and I am digusted. People who make these blogs need to be ashamed of themselves and be sorry for the community. We came to the BLOG section of PMC for a reason; to read a blog. When you give us a video only, it wastes our time. Sure some people watch the videos and they use the information given, it might be helpful. But no narraration in some videos ruins what is left to ruin from the "blog". The video part isn't waht get on my nerves the most though, by all means, have a video in your blog, but when you write nothing further explaining the video subject, it is not a blog. It is only a video.
There are of course exceptions to this. The exceptions are the blogs that explain what is happening in the video further by writing it out in the section meant for serious blogging. Let's say there is a video showing us how to make a dirt house. If it was only the video with the blog section saying:
"Lel dis is how u maek a durt hous, sub on youtube and diamon, comment wat else I shud do lel."
it is NOT a blog. But lets say the same video was posted by someone else (Without stealing, this is an example). With the blog description saying something like this:
"In this video, I will be showing you all how to build a dirt house. You will need these materials:
-x64 Dirt
-x1 Wooden Door
-x2 Torches
What you will need to do is make a hollow 3x3x3 area of dirt where you would like your house, Once you are done making that, dig out two pieces of dirt, one being at the base of the wall, the other being right above it. Once you have done this, place the wodden door in the spot of the bottom dirt block you broke. Place a torch above the door on both the front and back of the door. Congrats, you have built a dirt house!"
I would consider it a blog. Maybe with pictures and diagrams and more explaination it would be even better. This is what people should be doing instead of making it with horrible quality.

In Conclusion; I would reccomend that people stop making videos with no description, that is not a blog, it does not belong in the blog section. If it's a let's play, maybe that would be fine but just be sure to give a description of whats going on in the video. I hope this message goes out to people who make weak videos and descriptions and they stop or learn how to make better descritions.
