Ugh, I am finally doing this. Something that I've wanted to get off of my chest for the past few weeks. What am I talking about? New Players. Oh how they make me feel. Of course not all of the new players are bad. In fact, most of them are quite handy. In this rant, I will be rantisising (My new verb for "Ranting") about the new players that tick me off the most and just bury my nerves in stupidity or just plain immaturity. Let's begin.
The new players are what a good server needs. If you just have the same amount of people on a server forever, it kind of gets boring. There are those that are cool cats, and there are those that I want to send to the Hunger Games. I shall discuss the (number) types of new player that I can't stand.
1. What do you do when you get on a new server? Look around the spawn, maybe explore, or maybe you just straight up run out and start building. So you've been building, exploring, or crafting for a few days now and you kind of know the basics to the server you've joined. What has to snap inside of your head for you to think " I should apply for staff "? You have been playing on this server for 2 freaking days, you barely know how this server functions, you don't understand the commands, you don't know any of the other players, and you have the audacity to just go to the server's website or forums or whatever the server has and you make a staff application?! This is unacceptable. Basically, all you came on this server to do is try and get a staff position quickly. No one trusts you yet, no one even knows that you joined this server, and you decide that it's okay to waste the owner's and other member's time by writing this. After two days, you are NOT getting staff.
2. I have seen no one mention this type of new player in their blogs or rants because, well I think, that they pay no attention to this player. The player that I am talking about, is the eight year old gangsta. This player comes on to the server and the first thing he or she says is " Whaddup mah homies and f***ers ". I cannot and will not tolerate these players. If I see one of them, I slam my face into my bedroom wall as hard as I can ( just kidding ) until I see that they've left the server. In all seriousness, they make me want to do that. What I really do is take my hands away from the keyboard so I don't do something I regret. I go to my kitchen, open the fridge, grab an apple and slowly eat it. It helps a lot. When I am done the apple ( after three minutes or so ), I go back to my room and now that I have regained my sanity, I /ignore that player and I carry on with whatever I was doing.
If I was raiding a faction though and I didn't have time to do all this, I would try to ignore it until I could do what I listed above.
3. When I see these players I usually try to avoid them or I try to hunt them down, depending on what server that I'm on. The players that I am listing here are the ones that, no matter what, try to find a way to break the server's rules without getting caught by the admins. They usually don't last that long on small servers but on the big ones with about 500-700 players on at a time, they are extremely hard to catch. They try to be all friendly-like to the admins and owner thinking that if they get caught, they won't get banned. They are wrong. No matter how good of friends you are with the admins or owners, if you get caught breaking the rules, you will be banned. They usually find loopholes in the server rules that are just plain dumb loopholes. An example of this would be if a server rule says "Don't speak in all caps" the player would usually spam the chat with "IM NOT USUING ALL CAPS SEe". Just, never trust these guys.
4. This is just a list of players that are the most commonly known throughout Minecraft and PMC.
